[Archived] QATAR group bid for Rovers

Given neither us nor them expected Rovers to be in the relegation zone, with a good squad that can't win, watched by protesting fans and key people leaving the club. What should they do ?

  1. 1. Should Venky's stay for the long haul, or cut and run

    • Finish what they started. Follow through on their promise of Europe?

    • Accept any serious bid. Be glad their brand is now known in Europe and move on?

There not selling because of one thing there here to solve the issue hopefully , I am hoping for some good news by them in coming days or weeks.

Do you mean there is an issue to sort and once sorted they will consider a sale?

Unconfirmed from Qatar and denied by Venkys, thats the offically messages they've put out. The rest is only rumours. ITK people think they offered Venkys 2mill extra on to what they paid and offered to clear the debt, we are probably never likely to know the full story though.

The £2 million extra is way off the mark, if Venky's were selling then they would've been offered a figure that was MUCH higher than £2 million.

Tom the news is there not selling but the venkys are due to put a statement out in coming days,or weeks about the true about everything and the fans think there took loan from bank to buy us i e-mail the FA there told me this

Thank you for your e-mail.

We understand that you are unhappy with the way your club is being run. Blackburn Rovers Football Club, like all clubs in the Premier League, is an independent body that is subject to and bound by the competition Rules. Whilst we encourage dialogue between clubs and their supporters our role is to apply the Premier League Rule Book on behalf of the clubs and we cannot act outside of those Rules.

There are several Rules aimed at ensuring good governance of Premier League clubs and they are of course also subject to Company Law. We cannot however make decisions about the day to day running of our member clubs but if there were a issue everyone would have knowed about it the fans and the press. They all have their own directors, management teams, lawyers, accountants and many other staff with that responsibility, and who they employ to fill these positions is entirely their decision. In terms of club ownership we provide a framework that includes rules governing who can invest in our clubs and, introduced for the 2010/11 season, a requirement for clubs to prove that they are sustainable by submitting future financial information showing they can meet their liabilities for the year ahead.

We really need this Qatar group to come out and say either way, because if it is rubbish and they have not made a bid and are not interested then we can shut up about begging these Qatarys wanting our club and moving onto something else. We may be made to look like fools tho if the Qatary group deny being interested in our club as we have been in public moaning that the venky's wouldnt sell to the qatarys.

Same here, they've had 52 weeks after all.

Thank you for your e-mail.

Was that word for word? Seems a little out of context to the rest of the response.

You're a strange one 786 and no mistake.

Ha ha, so the bit in bold, which is completely out of context with the rest of the email and posted in the same style of poor English as the rest of your posts was from the FA.

You've just lost the last remnant of credibility.

Its so obvious that he's added a line into a standard form email that the FA (probably) did send him.

And they told you about the issue that Venkys are here to resolve in order to sell the club? That is what your first statement means isn't it? How did they knowed that?

Sadly Ste, i think the one issue Venky's want to resolve before selling is absolute world domination. Showing those pesky Barcelona kids that purest football can be achieved on a budget of zilch under the command of a Scotsman and his alcohol induced dry mouth complete with foam at the sides. Once this minor obstacle has been over come they will decide to eff off and conquer another discipline. Maybe the international ###### olympics.

Nice touch at the end of your post by the way.
