sharpysharps Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Klasnic wa son silly money at Bolton, and he has heart problems or something, rarly started a game for Bolton last season and wa smostly used as a substitute. Not nsaying he isn't a good impact player to bring on but I think we already have one of those in Gomes perhaps.

RoyRover Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Is Klasnic a freebie? As far as I know. He left Bolton as his contract was up. He always scored goals for them. I think he got 8 or 9 league goals last season. He had a kidney transplant a few years ago, but he is long recovered from that. I'd love him at Rovers.
roverandout Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 wasnt klasnic their top scorer last season? never seen a more awful striker than modeste, made diawarra look good!!!
RoyRover Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 wasnt klasnic their top scorer last season? He was. I never understood why he didn't play more.
RevidgeBlue Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Typical, we persuade a young talented player to drop down a division, presumably pay him over the odds then this happens. This could be a hammer blow to our chances this season, the qualty of his replacement will imo make or break the campaign. The only slightly silver lining I can see in this is that if we are focussed into acquiring at least one quality replacement, then if Best comes back firing towards the end of the season we might have two extremely good strikers at this level which otherwise we may not have had. On a separate issue I'm very disappointed to see Rochina seems to be being discarded judging by preseason. A hugely talented player imo, who should be being given his head now imo. Instead he seems to be being given the same treatment as the talentless Goodwillie. A case of having oil in your back garden and not realising it's there.
Rover_Shaun Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Rochina is a blind alley boy. Plain. Simple. Truth
Al Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 he might be useful in the championship, just like jason roberts! That's a gross insult to Jason. Not once did I ever see Modeste in control of a ball. It seemed to bounce off him at all sorts of angles. I don't think I have ever seen such a clumsy player.

bradeagle Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Think he tried to get a motorbike but couldnt find any helmets to fit his 50p shaped head!

No, a case having a moron as a manager and him not knowing what is in front of his nose. Or, far more likely, something very, very weird is going in at BRFC. As always, since Venkys took over.
JAL Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 What a shame for Leon Best but one player injured pre season shouldnt handicap Rovers season. In fact the timing couldnt have been any better for the amount of time Rovers have now to get a more than suitable replacement in especially when they've not finished recruiting for the new season or had they. No excuses.
m1st Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 The following is from a Newcastle Utd. season-ticket-holding pal of mine in response to my asking him how fit Best was when with them. Leon started last season well but then was injured for about 3 months. Just when he got back he was crocked again. He has spent at least 60% of his time with us injured. When Hughton bought him, he played a handful of games before being out for 4 months again!

FourLaneBlue Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 In Goodwillie and Nuno we have two strikers good enough for this level. We also have the likes of Formica, Dunn and Rochina who can fill in. Therefore, we do need another striker but not necessarily two. Defence remains a worry. If Martin Olsson leaves then who do we have at left back? Givet? What if he leaves or gets injured? I think another defender and a forward would see us better than just two forwards.
BRFC95 Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 In Goodwillie and Nuno we have two strikers good enough for this level. What have you seen in Goodwillie to conclude he'd be good enough. I haven't seen anything in him to suggest he could cut it at Championship level.
neekoy Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 We need two strikers, maybe one of them on loan, left back, central midfielder, centre back, left wing, right wing and new manager

thenodrog Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Awful news, could confirm our relegation. Reminds me of a point I made ages ago. Last sentence here.... http://www.brfcs.co....80#entry1220775
Salgado Is A Hero Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Kazim Kazim said on twitter that Best recently played in a reserve match. Hope to see him in the 1st team soonish. A big squad could give us the edge over our promotion rivals.
m1st Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 No disrespect to the earlier posters on this page of this thread [they were, after all, posting when "He who shall not be named" was our "manager" (allegedly)], but isn't interesting how things can change? We're on the verge of Best coming back into consideration for selection in a squad which, under a manager who knows what he's doing, is F L Y I N G?!!
