It doesn’t have to be all Bazball, it can be sensible and measured cricket too.

Dropping six catches and getting out cheaply is bad in anyone’s book anyhow.

Root (when Bazball began) was playing reserve scoops etc. during test matches.

He’s since dialled it back, which is what the other players should do ‘as and when’ the situation calls for it.

And I wish Root wouldn’t do it . … that shot has got him out a few times. He’s such a good player he doesn’t need to invent non cricket shots.

Watched the “highlights” on the news. Wtf  was Smith doing walking down the pitch to the pace bowler?  Idiotic Bazball mentality in the context of the game when all that was required was nurdling ones and twos.

I've (amazingly) managed to avoid all cricket scores/threads through this series and have watched the highlights every evening for every test without knowing the score.

What a fantastic series and what an advertisement for the 5 day game.

why would he? Brook has his style and he knows what he needs to performance.

Half century today

Because he’s far more experienced than Brook, something you can’t put a price on.

England I would say. We were on the ropes there when the rain came. I can still see Woakes coming out to bat tomorrow with us needing 10 or so to win.

Its been a terrific series tbf.

🤣 Please can you buy me a lottery ticket.

yet Hundred from Root and Brook got us into a great chance of winning that game otherwise we were nowhere

Whatever, Root is a class test player, Brook is yet to prove himself as a test batsman, some great scoring then gets out to stupid shots, the same as Smith.  One thing is for sure, if Stokes doesn’t make it to Australia we needn't even get on the plane.

2,820 runs, 10 centuries, 13 fifties, top score 317, average 57.55, ranked number 2 in the world.

Yes he makes mistakes but I can’t see how he’s yet to prove himself.
