"Given that Alex Carey admitted he had hit the ball in question, the only conclusion that can be drawn from this, is that the Snicko operator at the time must have selected the incorrect stump mic for audio processing," BBG told BBC Sport. "In light of this, BBG Sports takes full responsibility for the error." Quote

On that occasion the third umpire gave it out anyway, this time he didn’t. As always with these things it’s the inconsistency which is frustrating. 1 Quote
oldjamfan1 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago The Aussies (with 2 notable exceptions) throwing away wickets England style today. If we can nip out the tail without much further damage this is a below par score. Then we have to FUCKING BAT PROPERLY and keep the convicts in the field for two days. 1 Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted 22 hours ago Moderation Lead Posted 22 hours ago Dropping Khawaja when he was on 5, then him going on to score 82- it's this kind of thing that usually ends up being costly. Quote
jim mk2 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Carey should have been given out on 72 but the Snicko operators got it wrong. They also got it wrong - again in the convicts' favour - when Smith was given out in the first Test Same old Aussies etc etc Catches win matches and England dropped another today, costing 80 runs. 3 Quote

Yeah it was a straightforward grab as well. We did hold on to two pearlers as well, to be fair. Quote

If Carey knew he had hit it, should he not walk? 1 Quote

oldjamfan1 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago They crucified Broad for the same thing. Bet they’re a bit quieter about this one. 2 Quote
Bronzed A Donis Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Finely poised. First hour tonight is big. Skittle them quickly and we should look to keep them out there 4-5 sessions and wear them down and take a healthy lead. I fear if we dont and have to chase 4th innings against Lyon. If they add 50-60 as Starc can do and momentum shifts, I hope we've enough beligerence to see off the new ball. Quote
jim mk2 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Crawley and Pope …. The rabbits of England cricket. Hopeless 1 Quote
Norbert Rassragr Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Stokes, McCullum and all the rest. Fuck off and don't come back. 1 Quote

47er Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Amateurs seem to have taken over again. Totally inadequate preparation, (they knew best) and a basic failure to understand that there are 5 days in a Test match. Feel so sorry for the thousands of England supporters now stuck with a dead series. It seems to me we can now only play at home on our wickets. Edited 1 hour ago by 47er 1 Quote
jim mk2 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago ...... and even then screw up because of the stupid Bazball mentality. England should have won the previous Ashes series and last summer's India series but threw them away through the silly first Test declaration in the former and mindless batting in the last Test in the latter. It worked for a while and was exciting to watch but now it doesn't. McCullum should resign after this series. Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted 1 hour ago Moderation Lead Posted 1 hour ago Simply not good enough. Lots of changes needed all over the place tbh. Quote
chaddyrovers Posted 26 minutes ago Posted 26 minutes ago Where is the foot work from Pope and Duckett in their dismissal? Nothing. Crawley, Root and Brook got good deliveries but could their footwork been better? Probably in Crawley and Brook. Stokes dig in and show strength and character to fight. My biggest questions are:- 1. Are their better batsmen knocking the door in county championship? Top 3 run scores last season were Sibley, Hameed and Lees, who had their chances at Test level and failed. So are players like McKinney, Haines, Bethall ready to step up and coming for those 3? 2. Is it time to bring in James Rew as the main keeper and bat 7? Only 21, but performances like last season, surely it only time with Jamie Smith moving up the order? 3. Did we pick the right bowlers? You look at Neser and Boland playing and you asking if Sam Cook or Matthew Fisher should have been taken to Australia? 4. Why didnt we asked for minimum of 2 warm up games before the first test? 32 minutes ago, K-Hod said: Simply not good enough. Lots of changes needed all over the place tbh. What changes would you like to?. Change Captain? Change McCullum? Change which players? Can I ask anyone on here, does anyone watch any county cricket? If so, anyone stood out? Quote
wilsdenrover Posted 18 minutes ago Posted 18 minutes ago How many of the players would be better if the team’s mentality was changed? How many are just poor players ‘full stop’? Quote

Change which players? Can I ask anyone on here, does anyone watch any county cricket? If so, anyone stood out? I think McCullum and Rob Key need to go. Stokes, I'm not so sure on- I think he's certainly one I'd keep around, but I imagine he'd end here as a test player and just focus on short forms of the game from here. What annoys me is doing the same things over and over again, despite these ways failing time and again. And the complete lack of accountability. They've messed up, regularly, just own it. Arrogant was about right tbh, either that, or the most pig-headed nature you've ever known. What stings the most for me, is that I don't think Australia have even had to hit top gear to beat us comfortably. Quote
