Guest Norbert Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Surely we're going to get one striker in. Hopefully a good one.

Bucksrover Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Can't see them paying much of his fairly considerable wages. Oyston is a tight arse. Tempting to say we'd be better keeping him here if they're hardly going to pay much of his wages. Cack as he is. His wage is 8k a week. Dundee were paying half of that when they had him. I would imagine blackpool would be paying similar
Backroom Mike E Posted January 23, 2014 Backroom Posted January 23, 2014 Of all the portuguese players signed by Rovers, I can understand the signing of Nuno Gomes, Fabio Nunes and Diogo Rosado. I don't know what went wrong, maybe they just couldn't addapt to a more physical style of play. All others are quite strange signings. I'll be honest, I even thought Riberio was better than Orr in his few appearances.
roversfan99 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Ribeiro was woeful, he looked so out of his depth it was unreal. Orr was just average most of the time.
Oklahoma Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I'll be honest, I even thought Riberio was better than Orr in his few appearances. Not that it matters much but Ribeiro is brazilian.
Oklahoma Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Just found out that Henrique finished is loan in December so he is with Rovers now. Hopefully another one to loan if possible.
Brfcrule1 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Yes. I am sorry about that. I was thinking I am in need of an actual list, though, ,,,and for the wider world too. At the same time, I am really not sure just how all the Portuguese rubbish worked. The ..er...insomniac had gone by then...or is that the point...that he hadn't? .I know Coco was still there. .Do we think he got a rake off from incomings and outgoings?...allegedly, of course. Anyway, don't be afraid of the apparently naive question...never did Columbo any harm! I Don't mention the war lol love it Yoda Of all the portuguese players signed by Rovers, I can understand the signing of Nuno Gomes, Fabio Nunes and Diogo Rosado. I don't know what went wrong, maybe they just couldn't addapt to a more physical style of play. All others are quite strange signings. Oklahoma agree re Nuno Gomes but Nunes & Rosado are very much in the strange type signings but then again considering they were signed by the shiny bald headed gimp recommended by our rapidly disappearing Global fool who's justification for signing these portuguese no marks was I only recommended these lads I had nothing to do with the negotiations and did not put pressure on the bald headed one to sign these players to which Baldilocks replies I like to think we can improve any player in other words I will take on the said players but they are Global fools signings as I have never seen these players play. Hence why Nunes & Rosado are Global fools signings. I'll be honest, I even thought Riberio was better than Orr in his few appearances. Mike I'll be totally honest with you it was never going to be at all difficult to be better than the scouse reject. Ribeiro was woeful, he looked so out of his depth it was unreal. Orr was just average most of the time. roversfan please enlighten everyone when exactly did Orr do anything that can be classed as good because I am struggling imo he has been garbage the minute the donkey walked thru the door. Just found out that Henrique finished is loan in December so he is with Rovers now. Hopefully another one to loan if possible. Oh great another global fool reject signing to find a new home for. Oklahoma you really know how to cheer up a bloke
Oklahoma Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I think Nunes could have played well if he was given the chance. But it is impossible to do it when you don't play. Rosado played very well for Benfica B last season but I don't know if he was good enough for the Championship.
chaddyrovers Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Also the standard of rhodes & Gestede with Forrester just back they are all way better than Goodie.I think Forrester has extended his loan spell at Bury till the end of the season. I think Bowyer will look to bring in striker on loan or a permanent today. Either way giving us a striker on the bench for tomorrow game.
Stuart Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Ribeiro was woeful, he looked so out of his depth it was unreal. Are you thinking of someone else?Bruno actually stood out in games, Orr would have been easily forgettable had he not tongued Kean.
Ricky Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I'm with Oklahoma. I think the three he mentioned could have done a job for us. Nuno started off well and scored goals in his first games before being dropped. I watched him have a very good game at Bristol City. Rosado came with a good pedigree. Made a howler which cost us a goal and was never seen again. I still think he could bring something to the team. Nunes looked very lively in some of his cameo appearances. Had some real pace and delivered a good ball into the box. Remember watching a game on the box and the commentary team being really impressed with him. The others were a waste of space though. Jorge, edinho and Henrique. No idea what happened there.
G Somerset Rover Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Kamy mentioned on Twitter that GB is hopeful of having funds to add to the squad following his trip to Pune. I hope any additions will only be loans. It will be a massive gamble to buy a couple of players and hope that all of the dross that we have out on loan will find permanent homes come the summer.
JBiz Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 You do know your arguing with mrs venky lol Oh dear. It looks like the agenda driven manic depressive troll, and the clinically retarded Abbey have teamed up. If I can fight back the yawns of boredom, I will say this; At least Abbey doesnt intentionaly wind people up - he just can't help the way he is. A difference of opinion is expected. Negativity for the sake of negativity is trolling. You know what your doing pal, and if you don't - your exerting a real lack of understanding. Gary is not the messiah... But he aint a naughty boy (Kean, Appleton, Shebby, JA, Shelfy) either. Just to give an example - your opinion of the Derby game is 0-2 to the Rams. Give me an example of another team who has beaten us by 2 goals or more at home this season.
Backroom Tom Posted January 24, 2014 Backroom Posted January 24, 2014 Well Orr is on his way to the airport to head to Toronto he's just tweeted
jim mk2 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 O Just to give an example - your opinion of the Derby game is 0-2 to the Rams. Give me an example of another team who has beaten us by 2 goals or more at home this season. Statements like that are inviting trouble. Nailed-on Derby win now.
Rover_Shaun Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Derby could be the first. It's a prediction based on the last two batterings and the struggles in the previous 3 home games. But you carry on thinking this board should be a fascist cabal of positive tubthumpers
JonnyBRFC Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Good news from Twitter this morning - Bradley Orr On my way the airport... New chapter starts now ! #TorontoFC

JBiz Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Derby could be the first. It's a prediction based on the last two batterings and the struggles in the previous 3 home games. But you carry on thinking this board should be a fascist cabal of positive tubthumpers Last three games? 1 home win, a fluke loss to brum and a slow game against a team who have started picking up points? ( ie against second in league Scumley) .. That is if you aren't counting the city game? As for battering- if you watched/listened to the forest game you would realise that 4-1 was not a fair result- besides that's not really important when the result in itself fits your negative whimsy! I know things ain't perfect, but if you think things are bad right now, I'd love to have heard what you had to say 12 months ago...
Glosrover Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Blackburn Loaners XI Kean *creative license* (Although if Robbo was more reliable with his fitness it wouldn't suprise me if he went on loan to the end of the season) Orr - Songo'o - O'Connell - O'Connor Judge - Marrow - O'Sullivan - Fabio Nunes Rochina - Campbell Division 2 line-up at best......(i.e. what we know as the 4th Division) Had reasonably high hopes for Rochina, not any more, aside from the young lads sent out for experience, good riddance to the lot of 'em
Rover_Shaun Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 It's only tongue in cheek Jim. Everything on here is. It's only a game. Seriousness is for real life I am positive but just not as positive as most. Away from here Rovers fans are more synical, and with good reason

Rover_Shaun Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I know things ain't perfect, but if you think things are bad right now, I'd love to have heard what you had to say 12 months ago... At the end of the day, in it's cold light, results are all that matter in football. Last year I was just as pessimistic as RESULTS were just the same Last Season Pos 12th P26 W9 D9 L8 F36 A34 PTS36 Now Pos 8th P26 W10 D7 L9 F32 A32 PTS37 And this messageboard needs a yin to it's yang as there's potentially going to be many disappointed members.

Interesting perspective isn't it? we feel better but judged on the summary performance, things are just the same! For me the better feel is about having a sense that there is at least some purpose and direction, a lot of the deadwood is being shifted (not just being talked about) and the points we do have are acquired at a relatively consistent rate - my memory of last year was a storming start, then the team being well and truly found out, then headlong towards relegation zone. Things still aren't great, but there is the fluttering that there is someone as manager who knows what their about, knows their own limitations and has the trust of most of the players. At (sort of) board level, anonymity is a welcome change, no media luvvies, no spivs or chancers, or jumped up journos - Shaw might be daft as a shelf, but he knows when to shut up, and if all we see his him in a tatty fleece signing players then fine. Cant see much at present beyond a consolidation in this league and looking upwards rather than plotting how many points from the coming fixtures to avoid relegation. Barring Pune intervention, this year should be calmer and the next 2 to 3 years may have potential......
Rover_Shaun Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Barring Pune intervention, this year should be calmer and the next 2 to 3 years may have potential......Whilst your summation is adept at describing the current situation the fact that the (to use an Abbey-ism) Venky scum are still the owners means whatever is built is ultimately built on a foundation of sand. And for the club to continue for the next 2 to 3 years it actually needs intervention from Pune because the dire financial situation, and loss of all other income streams, now means the club is entirely beholden to three incompetents who live within their own colonic passages.
