Old Bay Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 With Dann gone who takes the armband? I'd say Dunny when fit, otherwise probably Robbo. Any darkhorse candidates?

dingles staying down 4ever Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Seeing that Hanley has been captain since Dann hasn't played I think we know the answer to this question.
Andy Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Robbo is the most suited, but I'm not convinced that you can organise and lead from one end of the pitch. A central midfielder is the best option, but none of our current lot fit the bill. Hanley is probably the best available option.

chaddyrovers Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Hanley for me. He has been captain this season when Dann not played. Now with Dann gone it will defo been Hanley. Hanley has the leadership skills to be captain. I might make Dunn Club captain like we did before when Nelsen was club captain and Samba was team captain even if Nelsen was playing. He was Bowyer's Captain when both was at the academy Evans might be a possible captain.
T.J.Newton Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Hanley seems to respond to being captain by getting too fired up, aggressive and makes stupid tackles(getting carded or giving away pens) Id prefer somebody a little more level headed, but there isn't really anybody else available, dunn= doesn't play enough, Robinson-i'm not keen on having goalies as capt., nobody else has much experience, I think it would be Evans if he wasn't injured. (im not his biggest fan but I think id go with Lowe over Hanley as capt!)
Gav Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Robinson isn't a leader by all accounts, he was given a number of dressing downs by kean the kean and just sat their and took it, especially the Wigan away altercation when Robbo came to clap the fans and was dropped by kean the kean for ignoring the managers instructions not to. Hanley isn't anywhere near captain material either, we simply don't have an obvious choice.
davulsukur Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Hanley has had the armband in Danns absence so i don't see it changing. Honestly couldn't pick a proper captain out of the lot.
FGS5635 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Its a pretty pointless role these days. Could give it anyone really

Mani Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 The captain will be Hanley...has the character to step up and lead the team for years. My guess will be Lowe as VC
CapeTownRover Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Tom Cairney for captain... extra incentive for his outstanding displays
John Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Says a lot that the choices are limited or none at all - young squad is great and always excites the fans, but to be successful you need more.
Shabani Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Hanley doesn't have the right temperament to be captain. I'd like to see someone a bit more level headed have it like Robinson or Rhodes
moerpho Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Tom Cairney for captain... extra incentive for his outstanding displays Was about to post the same thing. Might be a tad young, but has the ability to lead by example. Not sure if he is vocal enough though.
JAL Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Cairneys a delicate player that doesnt complete some games where as Grant Hanley is an aggressive player who plays the full ninety. So its an easy choice who the captain should be unless Dunny can become a regular.
chaddyrovers Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 After today game, Bowyer told the media that Grant Hanley will be the new Rovers Club Captain for us.
West Yorks Rover Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 After today game, Bowyer told the media that Grant Hanley will be the new Rovers Club Captain for us. Club captain for the famous ' Blackburn Rovers ' at his tender age. Let's hope his head doesn't swell too much !
Amo Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Let's hope his head doesn't swell too much ! ...too easy.
