The great Willie Donachie is presently living down the road from me in the Chorley area.  He goes to see his wife who is in a home with advanced dementia every day.  Every day she does not recognise him but asks to go home with him.  He leaves in tears every time.

So so sad.

That City side of the early/mid-70's was a joy to watch. When Rovers were away (and for some European night matches) my Dad took me to Maine Road several times. I can only just remember them but I know they were always exciting. Willie Donachie was a key part of that team - should have won more than they did but came up against great Leeds , Liverpool and Arsenal teams around that time.

‘The precursor to change is pain’

Pretentious twat.

Succinct. 😂

I saw a clip on which hundreds were streaming out of the ground after twenty minutes. Martin just doesn't get it. His whole demeanour and words are adding fuel to the fire.

They have Celtic coming up on August 31st too

A couple of good quotes from the Guardian BTL comments:

"Of all the people to choose to manage Rangers, a guy who sees football as some kind of modern art installation first and foremost and presided over an EPL implosion like no other was about the last person I'd have picked to manage that club in that environment."

Paddy Power tweet of the night: "Some Rangers fans are attempting to beat the traffic by staying in their seats"

Fair funny that he’s a former defender, but his teams can never defend….

Celtic and rangers would be fighting relegation in the English premiership

Initially I agree that would be the case but the size of the fan bases would surely see significant investment from outside and that, along with the TV money, would surely see them be able to quickly improve?

There are a lot of very rich people in the US who are proud of their Scottish roots - Donald Trump for example!!!

The reality is they are two big clubs in a very big city that just happen to be in a poor national league.

Boos once again ringing out loud at St Mirren as Rangers go one down at half-time.

Hope he clings on for another week

If he can make it through this game, the we have the delights of him being humiliated v Celtic & Bruges

At least potter doesn't come out with pretentious quotes after each game
