Guest Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Just watched Leonard's post-match interview. I love it when he says "I always know how to make that little run off the centre-half". He came across much-like Adam Wharton to me in his interview. A bit of confidence and swagger. Hopefully this lad can continue to produce. Quote
alex l Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Retweeted by Leonard. Wasn't aware we'd offered a new contract, makes the sale more understandable given he didn't sign it. Also indicates we're low-balling offers. Quote
BRFC4EVA Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago He started very slowly, but has been on form the last couple of months. Quote
Tim Southampton Rover Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago The question is - was the contract offer worth considering or not? Quote

Hasta Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) He was under contract till 2027 anyway, so there was no need to sell and leave us with no strikers. Also read this from the Lancashire Telegraph, and then ask yourself if it sounds like we were desperate to keep him and offering him a new contract. Edited 5 hours ago by Hasta Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago My feeling at the time was his going allowed us to bring Gudjohnsen in. Quote
roverblue Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Should have been loaned out and he could be back playing for us now. The club is run by total amateurs who shouldn't be a charge of a car wash. 3 Quote

Difficult to assess that until they've both had an extended run at the same level. Personally Id say Leonard's movement is better than Gudjohnssen's but the latter is more clinical in front of goal. Although Leonard may be improving in that respect. Quote

I don't think his movement is better at all. I think the only thing he has over Gudjohnsen (based on the Leonard of last season, absolutely he may be improving) is workrate. Quote
