Exactly, the PL is now increasingly a defacto closed shop, just with a floating few clubs bouncing in and out of it.

Realistically that was the 'bigger' clubs objective all along wasn't it? Big sighs of relief all round at Utd and Spurs this year that the gap is so huge now between the haves' and 'have nots'

That was entirely the objective. Previously, a shit season could see you down and someone (although it was still very difficult) could go on a blinder and win the whole thing.

Absolutely not a chance of either of those things happening now. Even shit small clubs like palace and Everton are safe no matter how shit they are because there will always be three teams that are just completely gash.

That's before you even start getting into the complete lack of atmosphere and passion from the attendees.
