why would he leave Wales's job?

Maybe the same reason Mark Hughes left to come here?

Almost as though managing a team in the top rated league in the world is some sort of accolade or something...

Anyone think Villa can do it?

Was pondering this but the Arsenal defeat has clarified it, for me anyway. Arsenal have the set-pieces to do it and the defence. Also David Raya is in outstanding form. If Gyokores or Havertz find form, they'll go well clear, otherwise, it'll probably be fairly close.

I think if Villa strengthen well in January, they could deffo challenge for the title

I'm so surprised that Harvey Elliott hasn't feature for them and I wonder who decided to sign him.

They've decided against signing him permanently at the price quoted by Liverpool, but they have an obligation to buy him at that price if he plays so many minutes, that's why he's not featuring for them anymore.

Disappointing move for him. Emery was quoted as saying they'd decided against a permanent deal in September, so what on earth was the point? Just wasting the players time.

He was signed by Monchi against the wishes of Emery…then Monchi left Villa…😳

Absolute screamer from Harrison Reed today to equalise for Fulham v Liverpool.

The guy who Mowbray thought wasn't as good as Evans or Smallwood. Along with John Mcginn.

Wow.

Really?

Yes. Strasbourg are owned by the same ownership group. He was being primed for it and now is his opportunity.

Big Opportunity for him.

Its clear that the role of head coach within their footballing structure and he is there to coach the team and design a tactical plan to win games. Similar to the approach in US Sports like NBA and NFL. With a limited amount of say in recruitment

There is a couple of articles on the Athletic website about their structure

A manager with a limited say in recruitment despite him being the one who actually has to get results using those players.

Chelsea have loads of good players but many are in similar positions and key areas of weakness remain unresolved. If they werent so intent on a "structure" mirroring other sports then maybe they would be closer to the top.

Having seen a bit of Wolves recently I am going to jinx them by saying they have a chance at staying up. Their problem is the likes of Forest and Bournemouth whom they would need to catch have excellent players and squads. James Hill is playing well at Bournemouth.

As soon as he came out with those comments the other day it became clear he'd had enough and was asking to be sacked. Sounds like all was not well between him and Jason Wilcox.

The fact that he changed system to 4 at the back, beat Newcastle, and then reverted back to his 3-4-3 system for no apparent reason was just dumb.

Imagine being fired by the genius thst is Jason Wilcox !  It looks like he’d had enough and told Wilcox his future. Maybe he wanted to be fired ? Who’s next for the hot seat ?  The problem is endemic at Utd. It won’t matter who they get in next. It’s a bit like us with the Chicken Chokers

After ending his comments last night about Wilcox and the hierarchy, the writing was on the wall. He has been those comments similar for the last 2 weeks.

Wilcox wouldn't have the authority to sack him on his own. That decision has been made at the top by the 3 key people.

I do think he wanted sacking. He wanted signings this window and they didn't want to make major signings this window above him

If I was United's DoF I would be going for Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola

Let's hope Darren Fletcher gets a reaction out of them in their next game and then he's moved aside and they appoint someone like Southgate or Carrick instead.
