It is no coincidence, how much we struggled, when he was either out injured or not 100% fit. His two goals V Millwall were a bonus, as for me, it’s his covering qualities and protection he offers the back 4 that are his real strengths. I can’t think of a better player in the Championship, who does that, although I do concede, my Rovers bias. And he nearly scored again yesterday with a good effort from twenty yards which narrowly missed. One general observation I have made is that we do seem to be shooting more often. Perhaps not enough at times but it seems to be moving in the right direction. 1 Quote

I thought it was in, he hit the ball sweetly and was unlucky to see it go narrowly wide. 1 Quote

Based on the quality of keepers in this league, you'd storm it if you signed 3 6ft5 players for corners given keepers don't command their box, and encouraged 3+ shots from outside the box per game! Commondore Posted April 27 Posted April 27 For the Norwegian members: Is there any discussion up there about him not making the national squad? I know Norway has a strong crop of players currently, but surely he should at least be sniffing around? 3 Quote

Tronstad, Travis, Brittain, Batth. Beck if he hadn't gotten a bad injury from being overplayed. But he did, so I'll say 4 who had a strong claim, don't think anyone else touches them this season tbh. There have been some other good seasons played, but I think those 4 stand a cut above the rest for consistency and how key they've been for us. A hypothetically uninjured Beck aside, I can't make the case for any other player potentially finishing above any of them in the player of the season stakes. Quote
roversfan99 Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Im not sure how 6 players can deserve to be in the top 3, but there you go. Hyam has had a good season. I know hes not the most popular player we have but hes played a key role in our strong defence and perhaps hasnt got the plaudits he deserves. Quote

They would all have been deserved winners. Travis has been good. Hyam has been good except for the dodgy spell when Batth was missing. Ohashi has done OK but is nowhere near the top 3. Beck was outstanding for the first few months. 1 Quote
