Wythenshawe 2 - 0 Rovers” Sounds like Ismael's pressers when we lose 2-0, at least that's in alignment with the men's team. Quote

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 1 Posted December 1 I’m not going to knock anybody who’s prepared to turn out in those circumstances. It’s easy playing for a winning team. 1 Quote

I did have a look at going today but they play out in the back of beyond near Emley Moor and I don't drive so that put paid to that. Hopefully get to see them at Stockport in January. Quote

TheKitGuy Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Away to Cheadle Town stingers this weekend - we suffered a 2-0 loss against them. This was our first game in this new league. They sit 4th having Won 7 Drawn 1 and Lost 2 Quote
StHelensRover Posted December 12 Posted December 12 (edited) Rock bottom of the 4th division without a single point. They were deliberately relegated two divisions and it's very soon about to be 3 divisions. (Edit- I dunno whether there's relegation this low down the women's pyramid. I'm guessing the damage is so catastrophic that they won't recover from this for years, our name is complete mud in the women's game, we're more likely to fold). Is that what our owners think of providing opportunities to young women in the sport? Our billionaire owners who love our club. Edited December 12 by StHelensRover 2 Quote
davulsukur Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Looks to be 2 tiers below them, goes to regional level. Tier 5 - North West Regional Football League, Prem division Tier 6 - North West Regional Football League Div 1 1 Quote

Even if we aren't automatically relegated, these horrible owners will probably ask for us to be relegated again at least one more division to 'find our level', we'll soon be running round on public parks playing against pub teams. JPTSwindon Posted December 15 Posted December 15 I wonder if suddenly lots of fans turned up for a 'home' match, whether that money would help the Ladies team, or just into the general pot? 1st point, start of the great escape - would be good for all those who (rightly) bemoaned what happened to them over the Summer turned up for a match over the festive period. 2 Quote

I suggested this early on to turn out in force for them Quote
StHelensRover Posted December 15 Posted December 15 (edited) I went to a handful of matches when they were in the Championship, went to 3 at Ewood and 2 at Leyland. I'm not going to watch them again now until Venkys have left. They've turned a competitive outfit worthy of our blue and white halves into a really tinpot, regional lower league outfit that plays against teams we've never heard of and gets stuffed every single week (except this week). This team is certain to be relegated again, further into obscurity. I think they would be best just folding until the Venkys have gone, it's tragic what they've done. I think continuing a women's team in this guise probably does more harm to the football club's image than not having one at all. Fair play to the young women who are still turning up and playing for the love of the sport, but let's be honest, it's not competitive in the slightest. I think if Venkys suddenly decided to take the men's side out of the football league and apply for us to enter the National League, we'd agree to walk away and leave it to collapse on itself and try and pick up the pieces afterwards when they've gone, I think we should take the same approach here. (I accept that scenario would be unlikely to ever happen in the men's game, even under these idiots, but just trying to make the point of how catastrophic that decision in the summer was) Edited December 15 by StHelensRover Quote

Is the money held in a seperate pot for the women, presume they are self funded now? If so thats an appealing option and gives NAPM an avenue to support them and show disgust at decision. Quote
StHelensRover Posted December 15 Posted December 15 Blackburn Rovers FC women are now trying to arrange friendly matches via social media. This is what the club has been reduced to. Obviously I don't blame any of the coaches or playing staff, not on them. Quote
