Reaction to this on social media is predictably depressing. “Who would buy us?”, “they can’t invest!”, “support the team FFS”

I fear most willing to boycott are already doing it (and have been for some time).

I think the 5760 Hardy souls or happy clappers who attended the Oxford game proves it.

A few more attendances like that, especially on a Saturday, would surely make our owners sit up.

Or not!

I’ve stopped myself from saying this up until now, but if you’re still going and giving them your money after this statement, you’re part of the problem. You’re supporting Venky’s.

People who’ve bought season tickets are obviously in a sticky situation with this, BUT imo have a duty not to use them.

I've been sent this from Twitter

The call for a boycott is targeting the fixture versus Watford in January, so that people who have already bought tickets for the next fixtures are not out of pocket.

Some of these journalists need to get out to Pune and knock on their front door, Watchdog style.

Great work by The Coalition 👏.

The fact it's been picked up by SSN and the BBC, gives Pasha and The Roas no place to hide, dragging them back into the spotlight light where they really don't want to be.

Huge, huge concern for me is that there are still Rovers fans who don't seem to believe that we, as fans should be doing anything to get these lot out.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion on the right course of action, if any action at all. That's up to every individual.

However, I can't wrap my head around anyone who calls themselves a Rovers fan and wants Venkys to stay as the owners of the club. It just doesn't add up at all.

Unless they are closet dingles/paid actors/bots/club plants,  The only answers to that are either Stockholm syndrome or neophobia.

I can only think about the people that sit around me, the people I travel with to away games (not that I’ve done too much of either this season) I’d be very surprised if the majority follow the Coalition’s direction.

And that’s the rub of this whole thing, assuming a critical mass of the remaining match goers are onside is a big gamble from the Coalition as the regime will be itching to spin it to their benefit if they aren’t, divide and conquer.

The Blackburn End Podcast not willing to discuss the call for a boycott on their latest pod. 🤷‍♂️

Possibly recorded before the boycott call ? If not, words just fail me.

Simply has to be tried. We are in a real crisis. Can't go on the same way regardless.

I think attendances aren't far off bottoming out anyway.

My suggestion for the Coalition would be to publicise the true attendances on social media game by game. Even now, the attendance levels are such that a boycott is happening anyway. That would give good publicity.

As for calling people 'happy clappers', my God, how embarassing.

Some need to accept the fact that some folk will attend no matter what, it's what they do. A chap who sits next to me has been going on to Ewood since the 50's. As he once said to me, 'Ive been going for over 60 years, I'm too old to stop going now'. That should be respected.

Me personally, I'll be there on Saturday, as I'm not letting people down who I've made arrangements with. Beyond that, I'll make a stand in my own way, starting with avoiding the concourse outlets and club shop.

I agree, 6,000 for a league game in the Championship for a club of our stature is a protest, but an organic one. So get those figures published.

Problem is I doubt it will be much lower for Watford as 4k,5k will turn up on a Saturday at 3pm whatever happens (some out of bloody mindedness now ‘nobody’s telling me what to do’).

It is what it is and I’ll support it, but I think it could turn out as a strategic error as the fanbase was slowly uniting in recent weeks, it’s now divided again.

Its finally happening folks and by Christ about time too...heartening to see!

Supporters have put up with this situation for far,far too long, been treated like gullible fools and taken for granted.

This famous old and Storied Club deserves better and its great to see the Wheels of change finally moving again against those who are doing us harm.

I also fully support the notion that those defending this hated regime are also part of the problem. No real Rovers fan can defend Venkys Wrecking Ball tenure.

Absolutely shocking the Lancashire Telegraph haven't picked it up.

Hang your head in shame.

They have been humiliated and banned by the stooges at Ewood. Yet, they still won’t come out in support of Blackburn Rovers fans and the town, who have put up with the sustained neglect and wilful destruction of its most cherished institution. Absolutely shameful !

Elliot too busy banging on about how rovers must "learn" from previous January windows to publish anything to do with coalition.

I'll say again, people need to put the future and wellbeing of the Club they love first rather than there own personal entertainment and pleasure. We are protesting for the right reasons.

That should really be respected.

Its on the LET now. Headline seems a bit of a downplay...collection of fans ask for boycott, rather than all the main supporters group in a combined statement.

EDIT: just actually read the article. Its a copy and past of the letter. They dont share any of their own views or give any encouragement or caution.

That is respected, but Wheelton is just saying how it is actually is with a big chunk of the rump match goers that remain, not how we on here would like it to be.
