I also wouldn’t want a player who is ‘happy to sit on a bench’ clubs should also be looking to improve. Problem lies there. Our starting 11 is ok. That’s it. I’d sign for a club with promotion hopes thinking I’m better than what they have and I will make it into that 11. so yeah overall we should be able to get better then ‘baker’ we’ve got money, we’re hoping for top 6. 1 Quote

The owners ain't willing to spend ffs. What do you not understand about that? Am I happy that no...but its the reality .I'm not going to waste my time and dream that they are going to spend 2 or 3 million on a 4th choice centre back or 3rd choice midfielder. I'm more concerned they won't even all allow a couple of quality loans in the door in the forward areas because our top 6 ambitions rest in that area in our first 11 And anyway Eustace has worked with Sanderson at qpr, at Birmingham, bought him as a full time player with them, made him captain, and has now brought him here.I say 4th choice maybe Eustace feels he can get in the team and its on Sanderson we have actually signed.Seen nothing official over Forshaw Edited January 11 by islander200 1 2 Quote

Overall it’s a joke that’s why we can’t get better. Agreed. Loans very important for promoted teams going off previous years. also the squad depth after this season with loans/Out of contract players is looking pretty grim. 1 Quote

Nothing we can do about it now, if he gets time on the pitch he'll have the full support of those in attendance as always. So you wouldn’t have been happy if we’d signed Stansfield then, based on him playing for a relegated team. Birmingham conceded less goals than us last season too. Im not against this signing at all. Nobody expected Batth to come in and play as many games as he has. Also many didn’t expect him to be as good as he has been based on him not playing much and not really being rated by the fans of his previous team. Blues fans I know seem to like Sanderson. Asked this morning and one comment was ‘some of Dions best performances were under big John’ and ‘he’s been very good at times but seems to have lost confidence’. I mentioned at the start of the window that I thought we may bring in CB cover and think that’s what we’ve done here. Wonder if he’ll replace Batth for next season when we have Carter and Wharton back as well. 1 Quote
BigHoz Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Ambitious but wouldn’t jack Clarke on loan be a shout? Hardly playing for ipswich? Just about to sign philogene. Apparently going to be their 4th choice winger. Make a great signing a ambition club 👍 1 Quote

Do we have the time to allow a young players to settle, why not just Play Harry Leonard instead and develop him?. Marc guiu who is near top of the conference league scoring charts (don’t think he’s realistic) you don’t think he helps our cause? for me of all what I perceive to be nonsense from you that tops the lot we should just go and sign hogan so you can come back and say he’s a Eustace player plenty of champ experience if the manager trusts him good signing my god 1 Quote
davulsukur Posted January 11 Posted January 11 If Sanderson comes in and does well enough for us, it might end up being a better bit of business than it looks right now. Birmingham are very likely going up and they don't want him now in league one, so they won't want him in the championship. Might very well be available for a knockdown fee and you'd think with his existing relationship with JE and his staff (which he's already highlighted as a reason for being here in his first interview) we'd be his first choice destination. Fadz and probably Batth will be off in the summer, so we'll be in need of a CB anyway. Of course the flip side is that he comes in, does badly but signs in the summer anyway but that's a bit pessimistic 😂 1 Quote
BankEnd Rover Posted January 11 Posted January 11 (edited) Wonder if we will go for Duk from Aberdeen? Contract expiring in summer. Had links with him before. Edited January 11 by BankEnd Rover Quote

Make a great signing a ambition club 👍 Exactly the sort of January signing you make when you're pushing for promotion and your club has a modicum of ambition to achieve it. You need to be looking at the league below, not above, when you're talking about Venkys though. 2 Quote

There isn't a cat in hell's chance that case gets seen that low down the pecking order. Venkys are absolute charlatans, but separate to that, the Indian court system is a total joke (including if Venkys have paid someone to put us that low and delay the case again, as that's of course corruption). It appears from the list that nearly all other stages of cases are heard before they move onto final hearings. Seems back to front to me. Quote
Ricky Posted January 11 Posted January 11 The Forshaw signing is more of a worry for me as it’s a position where he’s likely to need to play and arguably hasn’t been good enough. Unlike the Birmingham fans who seem to rate Dion, the Plymouth fans couldn’t wait to get rid of Forshaw. He’s a downgrade from Baker IMO. Quote
roverandout Posted January 11 Posted January 11 So far fuck all money spent. Eustace needs to get out this shit show of a club and save his reputation 1 Quote

Emerald Isle Rover Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Sanderson makes sense but I will die on this hill - the first players through the door should have been our targeted positions and again I ask what has the recruitment team done in their period outside the window to make that happen? People keep replying saying it’s not that easy and I’m sure it’s not but it shouldn’t be as difficult as we make it either JE has asked for a striker and a winger as priority he asked and hoped they would be done early This block of fixtures is vitally important it’s the making or breaking of our season. Now they are ‘favourable’ on paper but why not give us the best chance possible with no regrets going into them? Having a striker/winger in at least we can’t complain as fans thats my issue 9 Quote
