Exiled_Rover Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago 4 hours ago, Ghost7 said: The poorest bit of recruitment for me last summer was Amario Cozier-Duberry. That "prem" winger loan was absolutely crucial, suspect the club thought they'd brought in a tricky Saka type player that could make the difference. I thought they might have. Turns out he wasn't up to the mens game at all and it resulted in us relying on Dolan again in nearly every game. If they'd got this loan position right, with an Omari Hutchinson or Rak-Sakyi type we'd probably have made the playoffs...... but those loans cost money. It really does feel as though £500,000 - £1,500,000 cut here and there from season to season has damaged some of the best chances we'll ever get of getting back to the Premier League. As others have suggested when you look at the margins and how we've been closer more often at crucial points in a season than many other teams - without ever quite taking it seriously enough, going up really doesn't appear to be the goal. It will have opened some eyes in Brighton too. They thought they had a superstar on their hands - he was billed as "mini-Saka" (which is amusing considering how small Saka is) and one they'd stolen from Arsenal. I'd be surprised if he plays most of his career above L1. He's a boy amongst men. 1 Quote

Not sure I believe those numbers though, ACD definitely looks even shorter than 5 ft 7. Everything I've seen of Saka says 5 ft 10, but a few do have ACD at 5 ft 6. Either way, the mini part seems accurate, less so the Saka part. Though I can see the comparisons. ACD does have ability, and I think Championship could be his future level personally. He didn't look ready for it this season though other than in glimpses. Especially second half of the season he was very poor when given a chance, I think his confidence was gone. Tomphil2 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago ACD is probably more suited to Prem style football than the Championship, certainly at the moment. Looked quite decent at first but it all caught up with him physically and he lost confidence and was never really a Eustace style player anyway. Wouldn't be writing him off at but this kind of thing will keep happening because these are developing players and we are a beg steal borrow development club. 1 Quote

Probably another player that we had on loan a year or so too early, like Morton, Branthwaite etc Edited 3 hours ago by KentExile 4 Quote

Coming here will have helped that, particularly the mental toughening side, even if it didn't help us much but it'll continue because it's another symptom of where we are. Wegerleswiggle Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago There's a few in this game tonight I would take. Small, Kone, Campbell, Jones, Quote
