No surprise to see both leaving and for me personally both easily replaceable. Makes the Foreshaw signing a little more meaningful though.
We're going to miss Baaths experience so hopefully our CB lined up has that.

They'd both be easily replaceable if we were willing to spend money.

Alas.

Weimann & Batth have agreed deals with Derby.

The whole thing has been dragging on for so long it was inevitable that they were both leaving.Β

The club now have a real problem on their hands as Dolan and Weimann were our 2nd top scorers (joint), even though they only manged 7 each. A problem highlighted furtherΒ  that none of our players got into double figures in the league.

Apart from the RV account no other links to Guindo I can see. Nixons reply last night about Rothmanns, not sure if that’s a slang for something or a clue to next target

And I don't think that RV account has ever got anything correct either.

Disappointing to lose Batth - we always looked solid with him in the team (backed up by the defensive stats).

Decent championship experience too which is very important.Β

Money must be extremely tight on wages, hence the on-going contract discussions; it will be interesting to see if we can actually keep any of our better players.Β

3 shrewd signings by Eustace - a pragmatic manager who wants results now and isn't sidetracked with all the 'project' or 'journey' bullshit.

Think Weimann and Batth will be 1 year deals and will be big Rovers' misses.

Defensively, we weren't the same when Batth didn't play and Hyam was markedly less effective in Batth's absence.

Weimann was a great option from the bench when we needed something to happen.

Don't let anyone pretend they are in the 30's and don't fit Ismael's playing style and won't be missed - that's feckin nonsense.

Our 3 signings so far provide little comfort.

Those Derby scouts are earning their money I see.

It's all a no brainer for Eustace as all he'll have on his mind is a better season than last, anything else will be a bonus.

He must think his Christmas has come early after being associated with our shambles and now he's able to spoon feed off our incompetence.

Fair play to him i say.

Batth wanted 2 years he agreed with rovers a pay packet but the issue was the length of contractΒ

as stated before the majority on here laughed when he signed last year - next man up he could easily flop at DerbyΒ

as for Eustace hes like a redknapp sort of manager likes familiarity itl b a trend throughout his careerΒ

Shame to lose Weimann and Batth, the latter especially...but it was always extremely likely that they'd jump at the chance to work with Eustace again.

Debatable how many minutes Weimann would get next season under Ismael, but losing Batth who seemed to really help Hyam is a blow.

Was clear that this was going to be the case, Weimann I am not so bothered about but Batth will be a big loss.

Puts more pressure on Gestede to bring in a dominant left footed CB to play next to Hyam/Carter.

Losing Baath and Weimann is a blow but then they are out of contract soon so not our players to lose. If we wanted them then we should have been stretching their contracts last season. Same goes for other players nearing the end of their contracts.

Maybe we will just let Travis, Tronstad and Brittain run down their contracts and leave for free at the end of next season. Who knows?Β

Let’s Β hope Rudy and Val know what they are doing or we are going to struggleΒ

Our relative β€œsuccess” last season was clearly built on a strong team ethic. The departures of Weimann, Baath, Dolan and a few others is clearly going to change the dynamic regardless of how you rate them as individual players. It’s imperative the club keep Travis and Tronstad the heartbeat of the team.

Gathering young, cheap, data driven lower league footballers from across Europe is a massive gamble without having a strong core to blend them in around. Name me a strong team/club leader if we flog Travis ?

Let’s be honest we could drag a few tall, slim, athletic lads in there early 20’s from the local gym, stick them in Rovers shirts and they would look like footballers.

Pivotal days ahead, I fear the worstΒ

Number of people or so called people i'm seeing saying not arsed about losing those two they are old we need younger.

Guaranteed to be wailing next season at some point we need a solid leader in defence and oh if only we had a goal poacher we could bring on.

Rovers fans .... you can script em almost to the word it's amazing how a couple of cheap punt signings, not for the positions we are losing good players from, suddenly puts a 360 spin on things.

For the more balanced we can't be anything other than disappointed again and pray there is something resembling replacements in the pipeline.

if it goes to **** this season and we go down,we won`t be coming back up,the only saving grace might be the fact it gets rid of the chicken molesters, will the untested players be up to the atritional championship?????

Just waiting for the 'we can't compete' with what Derby can offer from the same people who defended these owners when Derby were going bust a few years ago.

Already seen it they always fall for the simplistic 'they get 27k every week, we only get 12'.

No second thought to why they are snapping up these kind of players in the first place nor the time they've spent in league 1 or what debt they may owe etc.

I would take National League football tomorrow, if it got rid of the Owners..Β
