Over the past few seasons they’ve sold loads and invested little… I can’t see that they’ve bought these in anticipation of sales. They usually just set a budget and basically make do, whatever happens. Quote
rob_of_the_rovers Posted Thursday at 11:55 Posted Thursday at 11:55 (edited) Baradji has been linked with Celtic, Torino, Leicester, Galatasaray, Sunderland recently but that of course could all have been bollocks agent stuff Edited Thursday at 11:55 by rob_of_the_rovers Quote

What would you say is more plausible... We're spending millions on obscure players from relegated sides in Europe... OR... We're taking cheap punts on obscure players from relegated sides in Europe with deals that are being dressed up as costing us millions in add-ons that will never likely occur? 8 Quote

Elliot has said in his article today that Alebiosu is only 500k if that happens, it's a much lower up front fee. 1 Quote
Popular Post JHRover Posted Thursday at 12:08 Popular Post Posted Thursday at 12:08 "Spent nearly £5m so far and only lost JRC, a 35 year old Danny Batth and Dolan (who was always gonna leave), yet u will still have people complaining" A tweet a short while ago liked by 18 people. I mean where do you start? It is scary. 13 Quote
davulsukur Posted Thursday at 12:10 Posted Thursday at 12:10 This guy a centre mid? Baradji, Taveres, Tronstad, Travis, Forshaw, Montgomery, Buckley, Garrett 8! centre mids. Buckley and Garrett you could see leaving but I reckon one of Trav or Tronstad are off as well 2 Quote

roversfan99 Posted Thursday at 12:16 Posted Thursday at 12:16 This player seems to have had an unusual career but does seem to have had a strong personal season attracting interest despite being another incoming upon relegation. In isolation, potentially quite exciting. It does seem a bit strange though that we are signing another central midfielder and perhaps asks more questions. - Does this mean Travis and/or Tronstad are imminently leaving? - Why did we re-sign Forshaw? If its just for token experience, surely you dont get it in a position which with new signings is already bloated - is this the majority of our summer spending in terms of fees done? In which case, why spend such a big chunk on as it stands 3rd and 4th midfielders when our issues are at the front of the pitch, and also we need a centre back - We did need depth and hopefully these can really bolster our squad. Do any get in our best 11? - a more minor question but are Buckley, Garrett and Montgomery imminently leaving? You will get the usual "negative slayers" shutting these questions down as I have already seen on social media but I think they are fair questions and not in any way dismissing the potential qualities of the player. TugaysMarlboro Posted Thursday at 12:16 Posted Thursday at 12:16 Granted it's only one YouTube video. But just looking at the lad, he is one big strong unit. 2 Quote

General feeling that Tronstad will be moved on. Still a massive loss but if rumours are true it’s understandable. We have signed unknown qualities further up the pitch but I’m feeling centre half needs to be a championship experienced player. Quote
London blue Posted Thursday at 12:24 Posted Thursday at 12:24 The podcast Elliot did with Andy Watson recently was quite telling about the scouting of these relegated clubs. It seems there is at least a strategy at play, albeit one pushed by a lack of spending power. Quote

There’s been no stability since these clowns have taken over. We all want them gone regardless, but in the mean time we will all still need something to back, watch progress, They have not delivered nothing to date. I do apologise if this is taking the wrong way. I’m not the best at explaining my self properly in text 1 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted Thursday at 12:28 Posted Thursday at 12:28 JRC to Charlton will surely be a 'deal up to 1 million' and also consider he was still under contract here so if they wanted him they'd have to make a sensible bid. Or more like us being the active sellers his contract would need paying up this end so all is never as it seems money wise but imo no way are we clearing a straight 1 million for him, more like half or two thirds that. Quote
JHRover Posted Thursday at 12:33 Posted Thursday at 12:33 Important to remember that whatever we are paying out in fees we are at least matching by what we are bringing in from sales. That's the 'model' imposed on us by the owners and their legal issues in India. There's no other way of it, unless we are borrowing money from somewhere. So even if you are daft enough to believe we are spending millions, ask who is being sold to fill that void. 4 Quote

Without some insight from the very switched on Watson the approach would be mystifying to me. 1 Quote

Yeap, among these incoming and the rumoured contract extension for Brittain, we all know too well that we will be sucker punched early next week with 1/2 exits. Quote
