I wouldn’t be against selling Gueye for the right price.

Didn’t exactly light the championship up and is a terrible finisher.

Hold up play is very good but it should be for a bloke who’s 6’5.

If we’re selling him to an UAE side we should try for £5m 🤣

Gueye, had 12 goal contributions?

Absolutely unplayable at points.

We need him in the team, he scared the shit out of some defenders with his physicality and hold up play.

If there's any truth in the Gueye story, then I'd snap your hand off if it's a decent offer. He's a handful and a great character, but he's never going to score more than a handful of goals per season in this league. Not sure I believe the story though.

Two weeks since Nixon said a new contract for Hyam was close...

Most teams after finishing 7th and close to the playoffs try to build on the squad  that did that and push on, so far we have lost Brittain, Dolan , Batth and Beck from our strongest starting 11 last season, our 2nd top scorer in Weimann.I think Tronstad will stay but Hyam and Travis could move on toward the end of the window. So possibly 6 players out from our strongest 11 last season and the 7th Weimann was our 2nd top scorer .

Weimann scored/assisted a handful

Dolan scored assisted a handful

Gueye.....

That's now a lot of goals and assists.

‘If the money is reinvested’.

You would have thought our fans would have learned by now.

Some folk get quite myopic when reading the facts about Blackburn Rovers over these past umpteen years the morons of Pune have held the title deeds to Ewood Park....Other folk just don't pay attention.

Some of us are so inured to the drivel that is drip fed from the local press, the dwindling number of ITK and the remaining faithful who just hope the nightmare ends soon, that we take everything with a pinch of salt until there is an actual picture of someone holding the shirt in front of the Senior training facility (although even that has been an unreliable indicator of an actual signing in recent years..).

Let the Facts speak for themselves. I'm not anticipating any kind of long list of facts to pore over, to be fair...

VENKYS OUT!! CLUB WRECKING MORONS!

Yes I know it's a long season you think I didn't know about how tough of a season is at this season.

So instead of Michalski being a 3rd choice you want another keeper? What is wrong with Michalski being 3rd choice? Highly rated and capped for England youth level.

Well you aren't going to know unless you give Tyjon a chance? Good enough, old enough. He is highly rated again so give him a chance.

Montgomery is going to a good player, plenty of energy and can get box to box which we want

We have category 1 academy for a reason to produce first team footballers.

Not having Forshaw and Hedges debate again with you.

Having another 3 signings gives us a big enough squad. We are 2 deep in every position plus extra keeper, extra centre back, extra  2 centre midfielder and extra striker. That's 27 players in a squad

I never said that we need a new third choice keeper. I said the other day that we dont. Im contesting you adding it to this number you are using to prove that after only 3 more signings, we are well covered.

I disagree, those numbers include injury prone players, players who shouldnt be starting, young lads who we dont know how many games their bodies can handle. I think we need more than 3, both in terms of quality and quantity to sufficiently cover all areas.

You’re right to be fair, unplayable at times (WBA away) but also shite at other times as well.

He’s a unit and needs balls into the box to thrive. It’s clear that Val doesn’t fancy him as his first choice striker though.

In the last 5 champ games he only played 70 mins.

If we sell Gueye and get a better striker than Yuki that plays the way Val wants, I wouldn’t complain.

If they offer anything remotely reasonable for Gueye (£2 million?),I think we have to snap their hands off. Leaves us desperate up front, though.

Leonard is injury-prone and not  up to Championship standard. He needs a loan.

Anyone think Buckley could do a job as a "false nine". Maybe a "very false nine". Lets be honest, he isn`t going to make the grade in any other position, even after years of potential promise. Takes a decent penalty, though!

Maybe we would just have to play without a striker if Ohashi unavailable. Worked for Arsenal!

Would be a disaster to sell Gueye now and be chasing around trying to find a striker this late in the window. Gueye is no worldbeater but to leave us with Leonard ( who is not going to score many or make any other worthwhile contribution) and Ohashi would be suicide. We struggle to score enough goals anyway.

Have we actually got anyone who isn't for sale?

I wouldn't complain if he took us up but I'm not expecting it! What's the chances of us getting a better striker do you think?

Best hope would be another loan.

Gueye isn’t for everyone

I def think he’s worth another go second season. Now used to the game the environment  he’s likely a lot more settled. He doesn’t come across to be a player that’s going to get 15-20goals but if his goal attributions hit around that with assists included he’s certainly a plan b option.

He’s obviously not in the mould of a szmodics or an Armstrong or even a Diaz but their first seasons goal wise were poor for us and just improved. Doesn’t mean gueyes will but there’s hope/history of it

Call chaddy out on everything he says

call rovers99 out on most things and today said he was erroneous and it was a figment of his imagination - wrong and you were proven wrong

it’s all there black and white

just boils down to the fact you don’t like being wrong - unfortunately for you it seems that occurs often enough

I‘m not confident in Rovers ability to get a better striker, but if a club can offer us a fee, that’s more than Gueye’s value, we should take it.

He definitely offers something different compared to other attackers that we have, but I wouldn’t be gutted if we sold him for a decent fee.

Mate, you yourself say that points won with a particular player in the team is bollocks. And you know it is. So this is null and void

According to Jackson at the Lancashire Venkygraph Rovers have been 'backed into a corner' on the Brittain situation and therefore need to sell him.

Maybe he needs reminding of the Venkygraph's own quotes in an article penned by him on 19th April 2025:

"I think there are other people that need to have the conversation before me," he laughed when faced with the obvious question.

"I'm really enjoying my time here. I've loved every minute. The people around the place are amazing. I love my teammates. Like you said, I've worked with the manager before, so I'm happy.

"This manager knows that I've got a lot of energy and up and down and knows that I can cross the ball. So, as long as we're getting in the right areas and I can try and keep my confidence up, then yes, I'm happy.

"There have been no talks yet. That's all I can really say about it at the moment. I'm happy here."

That's a strange way of a club being backed into a corner. Rather it reads to me as though the player has been backed into a corner by the club, and forced to seek a deal elsewhere after radio silence from Rovers. Surely not? Oh actually yes, we've had the exact same with multiple other important players.

Jackson seems to have been played like a fiddle by the Rovers Regime, doing their dirty work espousing a narrative that simply isn't true. He probably doesn't know that he's been played, a bit like Nixon probably doesn't care as long as it continues to get clicks and pays the bills. They're being used by the corrupt atrocious regime that controls BRFC.

I pity anyone who believes it.

I think Jackson's demeanour changed when the LT let him go to Spain to cover the two friendlies - think you are spot on, Rovers lured him in and played / play him like a fiddle.

If it's a statement that's come from the club then it should automatically be treated as lies.

It's absolutely inexcusable to not renew these contracts earlier.

Its obviously not cut and dry and there are other factors but I dont think its coincidental that our results with Ohashi up top were far, far better than with Gueye.

He was unplayable against West Brom which is the game people often refer back to but most of his performances ranged from ineffective to liability.

Also, he scored only 6 goals hence why people always say "goal contributions." They dont use that term when an out and out striker has a reasonable goal tally, they might for a winger or an attacking midfielder but Gueye doesnt score very often so they pad it out with his assists which include miss kicks in front of an open net and a header leading to a 30 yard goal of the season.

He has useful attributes notably heading but IMO he is not up to the standard we need. But as importantly if not moreso, he requires a total tactical change if he starts, he doesnt suit the rest of the team. If Ohashi isnt playing, we should have someone who is competing who isnt totally different.

I find it extremely hard to believe there's anything in that Gueye story, I doubt clubs over there even know he exists!

He's frustrating sometimes, to the extent you'd think he's won a raffle prize to play, then he can do something 5 minutes later and you think actually he looks OK.

He's a useful squad player and would be a huge shame IMO if he left, not just because of his footballing ability but it's impossible to not like someone so smiley and quite frankly off their tits. Probably helps He's paid handsomely like. You'd imagine he can get slightly better/more consistent this season too.
