No I haven't misunderstood anything thanks RF99.

I thought examples weren't allowed after you starting kicking off when I used an possible example of us easing Leonard backinto the first team.

No its doesn't create another problem given we have another right back but sometimes you might want to go 3 at the back for the last 10 minutes of games so moving Miller next to Hyam and Wharton whilst bringing on Alebiosu for the right winger makes perfect sense. Have you actually thought of that?

Moving to a back 3 to park the bus etc, tactical tweaks, those are examples of versatility which I said can be very useful.

What I am saying is that we shouldnt sign less players because of that versatility. Because one player cant play in 2 positions at the same time.

Regarding Leonard, you was clutching at straws. Gestede said we planned to sign a striker. Most of us feel we need a striker. Including you. Now we seemingly will fail with that objective, you suggested that the reason behind that was in these last couple of months in which Leonard hasnt been even with Ismael, perhaps there has been a sudden realisation that Leonard is Championship standard and crucially set to avoid continued further injury complications.

I would respect your opinion more if you stuck to your guns. I wanted us to bring in a striker, if we dont then I feel we will be short in that area compared to what I wanted. You seemingly share that opinion. Just stick to it, you dont have to parrot the club, shrug your shoulders and assume that Ismael/Gestede are infallible, or come up with nonsensical reasons.

It could be case of hard reset.

Set new culture completely, philosophy and replace majority of squad with an unbiased approach. There have been that many changes across staff, management etc , that its likely to be a clearing of the deck chairs,  new start on playing side.

You need investment for that though.

You obsessing over numbers again, Carter is back in 2 weeks and we have 3 options at right backs and one of those can play the centre back position just like Henning Berg did or Lucas Neill did during their time here.

I have explained Gestede's comment more than once as you are obsessing over it.

Yes I wanted Striker instead of number 10 but we signed a number 10. Also I expected Leonard to be loan out, if he is then bring in another striker but that's shouldn't be loan but a permanent signing. Ohashi and Gueye are my first 2 choices so that player would be third signing, if we aren't loaning Leonard and he is going stay and pay, fine no problem.

We aren't short there, We have 3 options there in Ohashi, Gueye and Leonard, if Leonard leaves on loan then we need one., this is point you keep missing and you loved stockpilling loads of players. You need around 26/27 players in your squad and that what we currently have minus one right winger signing which is a priority.

Gestede has just finished "DoF/CEO or Dummies" and has persuaded himself that doing the same stuff and expecting a different result can be fixed by having a complete clear out and starting again.

Sell who you can sell, fire who you can fire. Totally clean slate. New chap in charge. That's the way to do it.

Trouble is he hasn't realised our problems have little to do with t'workers the problems come from the chicken shit ownership and 'the board'.

I can recommend a new book for you Rudy, try "The Poultry Paradox",  a cautionary tale, football’s version of "How to lose friends and alienate people". They own a poultry empire and they’ve got the spending power of a Champions League contender but the footballing IQ of a pub team.

Reviews ...

Venkys: "We’re building for the future."
Critics: Just not a footballing one.
Venkys: "We’re committed to transparency."
Critics: "You’re clearly very bad at this."

Will no one rid me of this turbulent ownership.

When you somehow managed to finish knocking seriously on the door of the play offs 3 out of the last 4 seasons why would you need a complete root and branch reset and clearing of the decks ?

Surely it requires a try and build on that year on year approach with as few sales as possible and moderate investment in weak areas whilst FFP allows ?

Just seems to me they think balls to that we can go with a much cheaper higher staff turnover sales model and still land safely in midtable every year.

Crazy, ambitionless, serves only those who want an easy life and those who gain commissions and above all is dangerous to remaining at this level.

The Cantwell exit talk could have something to it, if we think back to the info shared by the Rovers 'Insider' last season.

That account could have been speculating with the following, but the info shared was that the signings of Batth, Weimann and Cantwell were supposedly 'compromise' signings sanctioned to prevent Eustace from walking last summer.

Further, it was suggested that Waggott went direct to Pune, bypassing Pasha, to get those signings done. If true, it means Pasha didn't want them. Remember he had already said no to signing Batth a year earlier.

Now that Eustace and Waggott have gone, Batth and Weimann have been allowed to leave. Cantwell being our highest earner, it would be no surprise at all if Pasha wants to move him on this window and save on the wages. This is a man who has little thought for on pitch quality, he has no idea what quality looks like, as can be seen by his ridiculous comments on Adam Wharton.

If they don’t amend their plans it’s going to be a long season

If right winger is the only attacking transfer we are aiming for then it would need to be salah

hedges isn’t good enough

henriksson looked like a man just off the plane

de neve not effective

no attacking threat in that team at all until Kargbo came on and even at that we could barely get the ball to him the last half an hour

worrying as that was a very average wba team

plus side Derby lost

Has VI or Gestede said one more through the door and that's it?

If that's including loans, we are screwed this season. Desperate need for an RW and some creativity up top after seeing that abysmal dross, where are the goals going to come from?

Ismael just asked now on Lancs

"Do you need any more players?"

Immediately said "yes"

Then said at least one more, any more than that would require players out. He expects players to come in and to leave.

Asked directly about Travis going, he seemed a bit uneasy and didn't give away much, but it definitely seems like there is something still going on. Worrying.

Fuck me De Neve and Hedges are fucking dog shit.

Ryan Alebiosu shouldn't be near the team either.

Shout-out Rudy - what a great window.

Slightly harsh on Alebiosu. As cover for Miller I think he'll be fine, and did ok today.

Any club with a plan would've looked to ship Hedges off 2 seasons ago. He's done nothing of note since the goal away at Watford early into JDT's second season.

If Ismael and the club hierarchy think they only need 1 more signing then we're absolutely done for. There's just nowhere near enough quality going forward. Defensively much less of a concern, but in attack I don't recall a more toothless looking Rovers side.

Again? One constant -Raos and Pasha. No change then, other than managed decline.

Thanks for all your hard work glen, I don't know how you do it. Don't let the bastards grind you down.

Having heard that interview, one of Travis or Tronstad are definitely gone. Travis seems more likely.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Pears, Buckley and Travis all go, replaced by a couple of inexperienced loans. Then the right winger on top of that.

It'll 100% be Travis who goes, he has more sale value which is all Pasha cares about. I would bet Pears, Buckley, Mafoumbi all go too, and maybe even Gueye if Ismael wants a new striker to compete with Ohashi.

Not going to judge the new boys after one game, especially Henriksson who everyone was very excited about. I think Miller with Alebiosu as backup is fine, McLoughlan is a useful Championship player. De Neve perhaps more worrying but will hopefully be replaced by Kargbo next game to start. Taveres who knows still.

RW is the problem position but hopefully we get Miyoshi done quickly, he should add creativity and I suspect more pace/nous than Hedges possesses. Shocking in the game report to read that Miller was having to tell Hedges what to do as his defensive work was his main redeeming quality.

RW and ST are bare minimum requirements. I think LW is an underestimated problem as well. De Neve is a seriously questionable signing imo. I have serious doubts over his ability to play at this level. Kargbo meanwhile has only made a handful of appearances, and only ever played more than 45 minutes once. Usually a lot less. There no suggestion he's the answer to anything and I'm not sure what is up with him - fitness issues or he just has some major flaw which managers see in training but isn't obvious on the pitch?

Watching Bristol v Sheff U and it's night and day - they both have way more than us up top.
