You and Wilsden clearly have a better handle on the process. My weakness is a permanent overload of emotional intelligence rather than the garden variety type (tongue in cheek) of process intelligence. Just seems harsh on a young lad whose hopes and dreams of making it as a pro end with being wheeled out for a ritual humiliation. Ignore me, I'm just a softy.

It's not that I don't see your point, I just think it could as easily viewed as a plus for the lad as for us. And maybe he gets lucky and it lands at his feet in the 6 yard box for a chance to make his name. Ideally you do it in a game where we are winning convincingly and you can afford to give him 5 or 10 minutes to make his mark, but since this needs doing ASAP and the next game is Brum...probably not! I think Tyjon's debut was only about 30 seconds and it will have been a proud moment for him anyway. Admittedly his wasn't to clear an administrative problem.

What I know about the process btw, I probably learnt about 70-80% of it from talking to Wilsden.

How old do players have to be to count as youth players in the ESC/GBE context? Don't tell me they made that fuzzy too ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm assuming it's the same as squad registration with players under 21.

No, theyโ€™ve made that nice and simple ๐Ÿ˜:

The wording looks like its been lifted straight from the "who counts as being an U21 player" from the 25 man squad rules for each season

Edit - just noticed you said that earlier

Really like the look of that lad.ย  He'll need an ESC slot though I assume,ย  so dead in the water.ย

Just imagine if Rovers had brought in close to ยฃ50M in transfer fees in recent years, giving them wriggle room with FFP/PSR, so could buy him now, loan him back to his current club until January & then bring him in once Toth/Henriksson/Kargbo had qualified for a GBE

But I must have dreamt that first part ๐Ÿ˜‰ย

* assuming they don't already have plans for Mafoumbis esc slot

I had a similar dream except we were allowed to pay in chickens.ย

GBE calculator shows him as exceptions, is that just for Scottish teamsย

Missed most of the day Sunday & yesterday, what did I miss? Trav gone yet?ย

Travis not gone but seems very likely to get done this week

Koji Miyoshi played the second half for Bochum meaning he lost points for ESC slot meaning

mafoumbi needs sold or as some have found needs to make his debut for rovers in a league game to give him enough points so he doesnโ€™t require a slotย

bar that nothing really new a tentative link to John yeboah but not a credible sourceย

Bit of ashame we didn't get Miyoshi in for Birmingham. Would've been destined to score.ย

Yep, we've another exciting game of watching Hedges bomb up and down the wing. I hope their full backs are ready.ย

Much better option than playing Hedges.

Reported Brum have sold their allocation.

Think we'll be lucky to avoid defeat especially if Travis has gone (Derby desperate for midfield reinforcements).

Thatโ€™s the weird thing according to their fans they arenโ€™t for a cm they are desperate need of wingers and a right back

this one seems a Eustace pushย

Think they have problems in midfield according to this report:

But the numbers told the storyย - Stoke completed 381 passes to Derby's 125, controlling the game through an industrious midfield.

Stoke midfielders Lewis Baker, Bae Junho and Ben Pearson dictated play with composure and bite, while Derby's central trio couldn't match their control.

Kenzo Goudmijn was peripheral with just 20 touches in 68 minutes, Liam Thompson was busy but ineffective and captain Ebou Adams showed energy but lacked influence. Carlton Morris's fine finish came from Derby's only truly cohesive move.

David Ozoh's introduction after 68 minutes injected some presence as he won key tackles, came away from duels with the ball, and showed why, if he stays fit, he could be a pivotal figure.

This wasn't a poor performance, but it was a revealing one. In the Championship, matches are often decided in midfield, and Derby lack proven operators in that area when injuries hit.
