J*B Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Good luck, John. Iβll always believe the emergence of Adam Wharton had a massive impact on his development here. John was the next one through, the midfield player and very quickly got overtaken and overshadowed on an undeniable level. Not convinced Saudi is the right option, but itβs a place to find some confidence again and find a move back. I suspect he wonβt be getting paid boatloads of money like is suggested, he just wonβt pay any tax.Β 5 Quote

Say what you want but I do miss the feel that squad had. It had a more homely sense about it; we are heading in a direction where 90% of the squad have no connection to this country, let alone the club. Not that nationality matters but nevertheless it feels as distant as it ever has for me. Losing an academy player is never good. Buckley had the potential but never quite reached up to it. Wish him all the best. He obviously knew there was a section of supporters who had nothing nice to say about him hence the comment. For me, a young man who gave 20 years to the Rovers and say what you want about how he comes across, that will be a miss in the dressing room Β Β Spot on,Β exactly the same sentiments.Β To start, I'm not a massive Buckley fan- always felt like he needed a rocket up his arse. However, his range of passing is brilliant and he can certainly read the game and nick/intercept the ball.. I've seen nothing in Tavares or Henrikson that suggests they have more ability than Bucko.Β When you add in the fact he's an academy lad and obviously loves the club I don't know why we couldn't have held onto him and just not signed Foreshaw- especially with Travis going. Β We've a squad now full of lads from all over Europe with absolutely no affinity to the club.Β They better be bloody good Rudy! 2 Quote

If he moved to Portugal, for example, heβd have loads of time on the ball and could look brilliant. The reality is that in this league unless heβs 100% up for it, heβll get bullied.Β Quote

Buckley had the only real somewhat sustained run of form under Mowbray, ironically as a false 9 which was questioned. His form massively tapered off before the season ended. Wharton only emerged the season after and was soon back out of the team with questions about his attitude. In all of that time, Buckley struggled to get to grips playing deeper and never fully established himself or got back into any form. Buckley's style makes him look like a graceful player. He just isnt very good. 1 1 Quote

His ability on the ball wouldnt stand out to make him look brilliant in a more technical league. 2 Quote

Tony Rover Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Buckley needed to move on for himself, I always hoped it would click for him but it hasnβt. On the side note though, all I can see is the heart being ripped out of the club. Who knows what will happen this season, the signings we have brought in have surprised me. Whether they gel together is another thing but hereβs hoping. All the best Buckley, youβll always be a Rover in my eyes. Quote
