BigHoz Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Glad the travis saga is done with, really liked him on and off the pitch. Certainly feels like a new era has begun on the pitch. I’ve been very critical but feel the squad is starting to take shape with some exciting unknown additions. Hopefully add a striker and they can do the fans proud. 5 Quote

But a crap player moving to Saudi Arabia is emotional? My thoughts exactly. Wrong way round. Travis always put it in for us on the pitch. Buckley didn't. 1 Quote

If so, and in view of last season's finish, why? So 7th with a manager not backed in January, behind the scenes arguing and power battles. Surely, now that we are all aligned we would expect at least the same or above. Quote

As well as "life changing money", I am also smelling a trail of bad feeling e.g...Gestede, Suhail, Eustace, Leslie Fielding's "redundancy" etc.. Looks like a clear out of all those, who challenged the new orthodoxy or were not "aligned"... 5 Quote

We're clearly not that club under these owners - look at the money Wrexham and Birmingham have spent. We also have 3 parachute payment teams and Sheffield United hanging around too. We'll be mid table, adrift of the automatic promotion spots by Christmas and just generally making up the numbers unless Gestede is a genius and all of these new signings are excellent. Quote

You should be in PR 🙂 For the manager to call him out like that? I don’t know what’s gone on, but why would you choose those words if you weren’t making a point? Quote

He’s going to have the game of his life back at Ewood for the 150th celebration game isn’t he. Sad to see him go, great player who always put 100% in for the badge. Let’s hope Barajdi is just as good if not better. Travis v Tronstad be weird, and that's just for us watching. 1 Quote

If he's that annoyed about it - why doesn't he say why he thinks Travis has let him down and say ""Lewis has let us down because he did X,Y,Z" etc etc then everyone can make their own mind up. Bit of a coward's trick to chuck a hand grenade in and leave it at that. 1 Quote

aletheia Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) I'm not setting expectations at anything (RG does that I think-he suggested promotion is not of interest to him). I'm suggesting that in difficult circumstances JE got the team to 7th. Given that those difficult circumstances seem to have gone ie. everybody is working to the same plan (not getting fined by Rev), optimism is high, we have younger, speedier, more athletic giants, then you would expect to equal or improve on 7th. TimmyJimmy Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago A whole bunch of metaphors leap to mind. VI has his plan. The board have backed him totally. Virtually the whole team have been replaced. So: - No more "square peg round hole" excuses like JDTs possession style and players who couldn't play that way. - He's got his players so "all the wood is behind the arrowhead", he's defo going for it - the board are going to "sink or swim" by this decision (taking us with them) - VI has "no hiding place" now and with this level of bravado risks being "hoist with one’s own petard” You've got to admire this "Billy Big Bollocks" show, or does it "all end in tears". I'll stop, it's really not that funny. We're walking a tightrope without a net (damn it!). 4 Quote

davulsukur Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago A lot of pressure on Baradji actually being decent. I'd start Trav over Taveres any day, so big shoes for the new guy to fill. (if he's even fit to play) Quote
wilsdenrover Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I wonder if Eustace even considered going for other players rather than just picking them up from us. I appreciate the ‘he knows them’ point but it just smacks of laziness to me. Quote

Success would be a consistent season without long losing streaks, averaging a minimum of 1.3 points per game and new players cementing themselves at Championship level. Whether it's 14th or 7th is pretty irrelevant. Quote
