Perhaps this is a bit of a incoherent, distasteful vent but here goes...

Call me a cold hearted fucker but I literally couldn't care less about anyone leaving, like literally no feelings whatsoever and why should I? What have they ever achieved? A promotion? A playoff? A cup? Christ... Even beating Burnley??? They're nothing box standard championship players. Maybe it's just a case of getting older but as football has become even more of a money centric business... I just care about results and performances, the players can play wherever they want... And they will. Most of us will never realise the sort of money they make so I personally couldn't give a shite about their feelings when they're off to play for even more money.

Those in charge (weather we like them or not) obviously think that there is better talent out there and that they're replaceable. So good luck to them, I hope they're right. I'll rightly give them their credit of they're right and their criticism if they're wrong.

All these players are seemingly moaning about us not showing ambition (true) but where have they gone? To clubs who finished lower than us for more money. So let's cut the shit, it's really about money. No words can convince me that they care about this club, they care about their working environment, not the town & the people, they can't ever understand.

After 14 years of dog shit in the championship, I'm somewhat apathetic and open to people coming in with fresh ideas and taking a risk. The club won't ever mean as much to them as it does to me, it's a job to them, it's my life to me... So anyone who wants out can fuck off and the players that have come in, when better money comes along can fuck off aswell.

Win football games.

Thats not the case. Travis hasnt been let go as part of aggressive attempts to make us better. We wanted him to stay, like with any of our better players we couldnt get him to sign a new deal so have had to replace him with someone who will take a smaller wage.

JDT and Eustace did win football matches, I have serious doubts that the present incumbent will,, with his 6.ft plus  athletes!

Maybe because the people deciding the wages thought he wasn’t worth what he wanted or could get elsewhere? Similarly to Brittain and Dolan?

Never won enough though. They also made plenty of excuses, JDT especially.

So the fact that none of the players we wanted to keep have all refused new deals was just because we didnt see value in any of them?

Why did we (eventually) offer contracts to them at all?

To add to my earlier post, Lesley Fielding has recently tweeted this.

I find this a bit distasteful really (to us fans and the ‘real’ part of the club).
If you’ve been there as long as she has, she surely knows what we as fans are going through, and also other long serving members of staff.
So instead of that bitter little line at the end, which is against everything at the club (including us fans), actually call out the people that are making you feel that way.

But of course, nobody who has left the club under Venkys/Anderson/Pasha has ever had the spine to actually do that

I couldn't say what they're paying him, but 30k I would agree is too much. They could have tied him down for an extra 5-10k though 18 months ago, I'm sure of that.

I'm not sure what he was on but an extra 10k for what? Is he worth it? What did he do to warrant it? Wasn't good enough for Ipswich and at 28 is as good as he'll ever be. He's been offered massive money elsewhere and he's gone... Off you fuck, tata, enjoy Derby... End of story.

Likeable managers but very streaky and inconsistent which cost us in the end. 7th or 21st... Still achieved nothing. No prizes for losers. I'm not convinced about this fella but fuck it, he/they've got a plan... Let's find out how good or bad it is.

JDT had a plan as did JE. Achieved nothing? Right. And did it with hands tied behind backs?

Expect miracles then with this new plan.

Would that apply for the following season or the one after that?

Is there any point at which it would become relevant?

It's a new team another new era. Success will be Ismaël still being here in three years and his team and results constantly improving.

Just watched Buckleys interview again, the lads gutted!

Would rather have kept him than sign Tavares. The lad bleeds blue and white.. Surely he was worth a go as a deep lying play maker alongside Trondstadt.

Oh well,  gutted.   Such a shame.

This is where we disagree.

Yeah he's not achieved anything but neither have any of the squad. If all the EFL moved on players who didn't contribute to milestones or trophy wins you'd have full squad turnover year on year.

He was one of our best players, well loved and was a great captain. If you disagree with that fair enough but I absolutely think he was worth retaining.

Frankly, that is distinctly underwhelming and vague and hardly new.

Maybe if the board didn't keep undermining him he'd have succeeded - best chance we had in years and we made amateur mistakes on deadline day two years running and sold his best player for half his market value whilst reinvesting none of it.

Not quite, they think they are replaceable cheaper.

I agree with many of your other points, there is a argument to be had that these players have had their chance and not taken it I agree.

I think its a loser's mentality which has pervaded the Club for many years rather than the individual players.

Big Sam - target certain games and forget others. Just do enough

Bowyer - Arm round the shoulder - development is the main thing not the results

Lambert - Im only here to get my career back on track

You can sell Rhodes if you like I couldn't care less.

Coyle - Let's have a game of ping pong

Mowbray -  promotion? No thanks - Im only here to top up my pension fund and look after the players who are already here.

For me there's only JDT and Eustace who have ever shown any ambition.

VI - we'll have to wait and see but the fact he's willing to go along with RG's scheme doesn't fill me with any confidence.

No it's not - that's the road to nowhere.

The old fresh start syndrome is a big issue in child protection, where practitioners fail to see repeated patterns of neglect and harm, as they merely buy into a dangerous optimism...

He was worth keeping, I agree but I'm not bothered he's left either. I just don't care. I do t care if any of them leave. The only one I can think of that hurt in recent memory is Adam Wharton. Rest, couldn't give a shite.

On the contrary, that's one of the best posts I've read that exactly mirrors my thoughts. Hats off to you, sir. 👏

As a lowly supporter, and as I've grown older, I've started to worry less about what I can't control. I can't control who owns Rovers. I can't control who plays for us. I can't control who leaves, nor why they leave. I follow Rovers to enjoy football, and no matter what is going on around the club when it isn't match-day, I still thoroughly enjoy match days.

This will sound contradictory given that I'm sitting here bang in between two Rovers match days writing this, but I often wonder if I'm the only one who finds following Rovers much more enjoyable when I don't digest the drama off the pitch, true or otherwise, and stick primarily to match days and a few beers.

I agree, however JDT openly gave up and continued to play the same football with players not up to it. At least Eustace made us harder to beat.

You understand that you can offer someone a contract but not enough for them to want to sign it, right?

Then spin that thought around, we might want to keep Lewis Travis but we might also think he’s not worth 20k a week.
