Didn’t he also sign Brittain, Szmodics and Tronstad? (albeit you hate the latter) - granted he signed some tosh as well but at least a few hits

Szmodics was his one big success.

Brittain/Hyam we paid decent money for and they've been good at times not so good at others. I appreciate most people like Tronstad. Let's see how he fares without Travis doing all the donkey work for him. We didn't do well when Travis was on loan at Ipswich.

Too many disasters though- the two January transfer window debacles - Wahlstedt/Hirst/Telaloic/Ennis/O Riordan

It it was us (if we are honest) we’d love it, Eustace has exploited them and took a good player and signed players who have done well for him.

If we raided Watford and took players who did well for Ismael would they call him a snake and bring inflatable snakes to ewood?

Probably not, they've had 17 managers since

you mean like Eustace 😉🤔😂

Just to be clear, what's your raison D'aitre for hating Eustace?

Is it because he said he was unaware of any interest from Derby before the Wolves Cup Tie or something?

Have you never ever told a white lie to protect someone's feelings?

Would you prefer he'd said

'Yeah, well,  Im just in charge for today but I'll be off to Derby next week if I can't make any headway with the owners?"

Time to move Rev. He's gone, we moved on, some of us have moved from the Eustace time here.

I have expressed my opinions around his move to Derby and what I would have done if I had Rovers CEO. I have nothing more to add to that

To an extent I do agree, but, he can’t keep turning to ageing players, the likes of Batth and Weimann and expect the same output every season. Neither have had good reviews and they don’t rate Sanderson at all, he’s had horror reviews. Beck I really liked but he’s often injured, Liverpool know this, he is unlikely to make it there as a result.

Their best signings IMO haven’t been the ones from us, Morris is a good un and BBD will do well I think, their main injured signing seems a bizarre odd risk.

You're wasting your time getting Rev to admit Broughton had any successes. Especially by mentioning Tronstad, who he also refuses to admit is a good player. It's bizarre and nobody else agrees, but his opinion is both are shit with few redeeming qualities.

Tbf that's probably cos the bulk, if not all, of our incoming transfer business is done. Which itself deserves some credit as I can't remember the last time that happened, even if the window hasn't gone how we'd have liked in various regards.

Bullshit Broughton was far worse as a DOF than Teflon Tronstad is as a footballer tbf. Albeit Id imagine the latter will escape completely immune from any criticism should we go down this season.

Someone mentioned the other night about whether Mowbray tried to falsely claim all the credit for Wharton's development on that interview with Big Sam.

He'd be too late for that in any event - Broughton already did it.

Rovers didn't get a tune out of Hirst - but Ipswich clearly did. O'Riordan is excelling on loan at Donny. Apparently Telalovic has moved on for a profit. Only Ennis has flopped.

Thanks for proving my point. I was only trying to save you some time ranting about them for the 1000th time, but I suspect you actually enjoy it so fair enough 🙂

Completely irrelevant. The three of them never even scored a goal here between them.

That is some unwanted record which surely will never ever be surpassed ( if that's the right word)

We should do all we can to get Alan Browne in. He would be the difference between a good and a bad season. Just the type of player we need to come in.

It's actually a tragedy. If we'd appointed an actual proper DOF to work alongside the excellent JDT instead of a bullshitting over promoted Academy Head, we'd probably have had enough to get us over the line.

Im struggling to see when that chance will ever come around again now tbh.

True to some extent but if they hadn’t pulled the plug on deadline day transfers and then slashed the budget, we would have made it, even with Broughton in role.

It just won't be the same without some untried and untested teenagers arriving in the latter stages of deadline day 😉

Although that being said, we have already stocked up on the untried & untested, we just own them this time

Suspect we may still see a Prem loan or 2, likely teenagers to plug gaps in goal & central midfield if Pears leaves (allowing Michalski to get a loan) and/or if Baradji is not going to be fit in the near future

I think Wahlstedt and Ennis can be seen as flops, but the rest certainly not.
And even then, we made no financial loss on either.

Hirst and Telalovic didn't do it for us, but they've gone on to bigger and better things; the potential was clearly there.

Szmodics, Tronstad and Hyam don't need explaining - all 3 of them have won our POTY trophy since being here.
And, as you say, O'Riordan is showing a lot of potential out on loan, so we can't make a real judgement either way on him right now.

You'd be reaching (at best) if you were trying to make out that Broughton's transfer record was more shit than good.
