They also said that they think that the squad is stronger. So why wouldnt they commit to saying that the aim is the play offs seeing as we finished 7th with a weaker squad, in their eyes?

Because other teams get stronger, too. We probably overacheived last season as well.

The wage budget has been cut.

This isn’t any kind of  alternative master plan. It’s simply the only thing that’s left open to Gestede and company. They have to let the higher earners go and just hope that somehow they can get around it. In other words they’re all lieing to us all.

Time for a few truths from the owners. If they were to say that they couldn’t continue funding the club at the previous levels then we would all have to accept it. We might not be happy with it but we would accept it.

but then rightly, they would be urged to put the club up for sale. With a wage budget seemingly at the bottom end of this league the chances of success are virtually nil. It happens sometimes but it hasn’t happened here for 15 years.

The teams with the highest wage bill tend to be the teams at the top of the league. We’re on a downward trajectory with no signs of it changing.

It is one hell of a good argument, if the worst happens and we get relegated.

All the other teams got stronger, as well as us but they got even stronger than us.

It was a much stronger league overall and as we over achieved last season, it wasn't our fault that we under achieved this season and went down.

Next.

Further confirms that Pasha is the only decision maker here, he makes all the decisions and sends out his puppets to take the heat (until they get fed up and leave or are removed from role for refusing)

they learn the hard way, or just stop looking backwards.

They’ve had 15 years and haven’t learnt anything any way

Why would Pasha stop Gestede speaking to the local paper?

Because he comes across as reactionary so of challenged on certain topics maybe he will say something he shouldn’t either way it’s another gagging order from him on staff below him it’s farcical really

or they have fell out with LT over 2/3 articles about how poor the window has been

Andy bayes wil be posting an interview at 8pm on bbc lancs

Gestede comes across as a highly unlikeable person indeed but make no mistake about it suhail pasha is the main problem always has been and will always continue to be so long as venkys continue to employ him

Venky's don't employ him.... its his project with Vs on name

I want them to sell the club, no point in them owning it

You’re right, results do matter and patience will wear thin quickly if points arent picked up, that’s the reality. But I don’t think this rebuild is about preparing for relegation, it’s about trying something different after years of falling just short. The old squad had grown together but also hit a ceiling. The Jan window and Eustace exit were setbacks, but they'll have exposed deeper issues the club have since addressed.

The new approach is risky, no doubt but risk doesn’t always mean decline. If even a few of these signings settle quickly and the team gels, we will be competitive. It’s not about accepting worse results it’s accepting change takes time. Let’s see where we are after 10–15 games before writing the season off.

I think you are deluding yourself here, did you actually watch the video properly and listen to what was said?

The plan wasn't the get rid of the core of a team that had just finished 7th.  They claim they offered all those players contracts so if we believe that to be true they couldn't have decided that squad had hit a ceiling and they wanted to try something different.  The players left because they didn't offer them good enough contracts, including some that were offered exactly the same terms they were on, as I think Rudy said.  There were no deeper issues exposed.  What you wrote is sadly nonsense.

I do hope the likes of Mori and Gudjohnsen and even perhaps Baradji come good but what has happened has happened primarily because it saves money, there is no doubt about that.

Whatever you think of Rudy and his comrades they are not the problem. Venkys are the problem. They have been the problem for 15 years. They have overseen the decline and they are the masterminds behind our wagecap and they are the reason why Rudy can’t offer our players decent wages and forces him to sign the likes of Dion. Lots of people have come and gone. All under Venkys watch.

Disagree. That is true in terms of the Vs and nobody here (apart from some) but gives RG and hence Pasha far to easy a ride. Just carrying out orders. They cause far more damage than that.

They are also a big part of the problem for all the reasons many have outlined on here before.

We are very transparent and honest.

Bayes has an interview with Gestede and Ismail. Same thing happened with that three stooges interview from earlier this year where they all wore the same trousers.

They obviously don't like the LT - tbf probably correctly, they are terrible

Honestly, some of them weren’t giving 100%

Really? They did pretty well then (7th lest you forget in your bland assertions) don't you think given that JE and the squad weren't supported in January.

I think the squad is potentially stronger - but it will take many of them months to adjust to championship football and that's the real problem.

We've sold solid championship players for, in the main, foreign imports who have more footballing ability and athleticism but are completely untested in this country. It's a gamble for sure. You need to build gradually and allow those imports to learn the ways of the championship before throwing them in. Instead, we have no choice but to throw them in at the deep end.

Many other teams have bought proven talent who will be far more ready to hit the ground running.

It’s much worse, you don’t have time to “gel” in the championship, it’s relentless
