Puts us to shame when all we are aware of are a few cloth caps (not Peaky Blinders), some additional display cases, and a home game v Derby with no fireworks. https://www.bcfc.com/pages/en/media-article/blues-launch-keep-right-on-campaign-to-mark-150th-anniversary This ought to be sent to them to show them what a newly promoted league 1 side has mustered 1 Quote
Hullrover Posted August 20 Posted August 20 The sad thing is that I should be looking forward to signing up for this book, but until I have an idea of content or contributors then I am afraid I won't be doing so. Will there be well written chapters writing about key periods of our history, player bios, great matches, statistics as there were for the Harry Berry & Mike Jackman books. If the book extends the work of those two authors then it will be worth buying. More info please. Quote

It is produced by a 3rd party who produce anniversary books for a number of clubs such as Villa and Spurs. They have done some decent publications but as you will have heard at the WATR AGM Suhail wanted the owners to do the introduction and Steve Waggott sensibly advised against given the threat to book sales. I don’t know what the ultimate outcome is but I would guess, and it is a guess, given that SW has gone it is Suhail who would have determined the outcome. Edited August 20 by Mike Graham Quote
wilsdenrover Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Isn’t it by rather than of (skill and hard work)?: This official commemorative book captures the spirit of Arte et Labore, of skill and hard work, that has defined Blackburn Rovers for a century and a half. 1 Quote

Yes, but you'd have to not be a complete fucking imbecile to understand that. 1 Quote

Yep you'd think after 14 years of owning us, these people would be knowledgeable to understand & know that. This goes to show where their priorities are in relation to the club. My 11 year old Godchild would understand that better than the people running this club! 😥 1 Quote

Wilsden is absolutely correct. You don't even need Latin O' level to know there is no genitive case here...it never, ever was "of"! 100% BY.... 2 Quote
Mike Graham Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) It is now less than 2 months to the 150th birthday of probably the most momentous moment in the history of the town of Blackburn. We were originally promised a year of celebration of our World famous club. Sadly we haven’t a clue what will be happening to celebrate OUR Club. All we have had so far is: - the promise of a anniversary book (the Club announced this about 4 weeks back but have been quiet on the subject ever since; I wonder why🧐). - an anniversary logo that could have been better designed by a 5 year old in an infant schools art class. - a celebration game against Derby Rovers at prices to put off most casual fans. - some nice flat caps handed out pre match to stars of the past. Is anyone aware of any other formal Rovers 150 Anniversary activities? Edited 7 hours ago by Mike Graham 3 Quote
ABRAM ROVER Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Shocking isn't it. £18.75 for 2 adults, 2 children. Get Ewood full, all 4 sides. 4 Quote

You forgot the 'range' of 'Macron' anniversary merchandise released a couple of weeks ago, including these two classics Simply laughable stuff. Quote

Surely it's going to be £18.75 though like the sheff utd game was a few years back Quote

Jacks Kitchen is not available for a ‘pie and a pint’ as they are looking at the potential of using the lounge for hospitality sales. Maybe the club will pull back and realise the only way fans will turn up is to have a decent ticket offer. 1 Quote

I haven't looked at the ticket categories but had noticed no jacks kitchen as i go in there if staying over...i really hope they do put an offer but it doesn't look good if it's listed as cat A Quote

The commercial department must be having a laugh… who buys and wants to wear this stuff? make football merchandise look like something you’d actually want to wear rather than wear when painting/plastering, and decent quality - no gimmicks or big shite logos or poor humour attempts etc… other clubs often do it so much better; things that people will actually wear casually and therefore buy. This is Poundland level crap Quote
