Backroom Tom Posted Wednesday at 16:11 Backroom Posted Wednesday at 16:11 Presume this special kit is being worn in the actual match and not just the kickabout after? Watch them rub salt in the wounds and have the Venkys logo emblazoned on it 1 1 Quote

I think they probably just came out with it in the heat of the moment once they saw the reaction to the most bland and least commemorative home shirt imaginable. Things like one-off badges, kits, merchandise all require time, designing and expense. That doesn't fit with the regime's 'management' of the club. Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted Thursday at 10:17 Posted Thursday at 10:17 None of the people running the Club are Rovers fans, not a single one and Christ does it show. Totally detached from the feelings and wishes of the fanbase. This special Occasion should have been done so much better..so sad to witness. 1 Quote

The one off shirt was being discussed in April 2024. They ignored many of our suggestions for this season’s kits though so who knows what will emerge… I expect the blue to be dark & the Maltese Cross to feature… Quote

Backroom Tom Posted Thursday at 20:24 Backroom Posted Thursday at 20:24 Not saying their new badge is better but a simple gold trim for the anniversary season is an obvious choice 4 Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted Thursday at 20:37 Posted Thursday at 20:37 They have a huge Boro fan running their Club.... 1 Quote

JHRover Posted yesterday at 09:01 Posted yesterday at 09:01 That 150th special version, simply the new badge in gold with '150 years' below it is the sort of thing Rovers could and should have done. Anyone and everyone looks at it and knows straight away it is special and what the occasion is. Then back to normal the year after. We've instead adopted a white rose on our away kits because it's cheaper to do a monochrome badge than the full colour version and that's about it - nobody outside of the Rovers fanbase would have a clue that we're 2 weeks away from such a monumental anniversary. 2 Quote
Lancaster Rover Posted yesterday at 10:47 Posted yesterday at 10:47 If it is the kit doing the rounds on Facebook, etc it's possibly one of the biggest own goals (in a long and disastrous list) of the Venky's tenure Quote

Lancaster Rover Posted yesterday at 11:20 Posted yesterday at 11:20 It's all white, blue V neck collar and a Maltese cross. Honestly you don't want to see it Quote
StHelensRover Posted yesterday at 11:40 Posted yesterday at 11:40 (edited) If it isn't blue and white halves then I give up. No one cares if the very first kit the team ever ran out in wasn't blue and white halves, there's probably no surviving photos and it means very little. We've played in blue and white halves for more than 99% of the club's history, we're known for it, the kit stands alone in the modern British game. It's one of the last remaining unique and beautiful things about the club after 15 years of being laughing stocks. If they insist on the Maltese cross, then I can go along with that as there is some limited historical evidence of it appearing on blue and white shirts and it bears some relevance to the club founders. Would maybe have been better going with either the town crest or an artistic/tasteful rendition of a red rose (not AI slop) Let's film the team wearing it while fighting over a plate of fried chicken again. Edit- just another thought, if it is all white, will be add extra hilarity to the fact the anniversary match is against Derby. They have all our players and manager, we'll wear their kit. glen9mullan Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago As mentioned by others, a celebration on international break been good. Let's see if they can beat the last legends line up with Tugay for this one!!!. On a serious note though, this game clashes with remembrance day and clearly no thought has gone into that Yes its our 150th anniversary year, but our poppy day game is usually a somber affair to remember our fallen hero's. Corporate prices ridiculous for this and certainly a big rise on the £15 the legends match was. I note there hasn't been a suggestion where the funds go from the celebrations raised by bringing the Former players for the exhibition game I would hope ALL profits go to charity as was the case when the AG brought the legends back. 1 Quote

I fookin well give up with this lot. Edited 19 hours ago by SIMON GARNERS 194 1 1 Quote
