Could see them bottling promotion at the rate they're going. Even when they were winning thought they were riding their luck somewhat. Wouldn't be surprised if they blow it. Quote
Hasta Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Leicester V West Brom tonight. West Brom, being only 3 points infront of us, clearly have issues and could become unlikely participants in a relegation battle. Not sure where Leicester are up to with points deductions, but if the got the rumoured max of -9 would put them behind us. Quote

davulsukur Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Sacking season in full swing around the leagues. Ryan Mason sacked by WBA Quote
davulsukur Posted January 6 Posted January 6 It looks like WBA trod a similar path to us. Sold good players (Fellows for £10m, Heggem for £14m) with the aim largely to "reduce the average age of the squad", employed a manager who's been claiming they're better than their results show as the stats point to more shots, more chances created, small margins, only losing games by a goal etc. despite results being poor They are 3 points better off and have 2 more wins than us but at least the club have realised this isn't working and have binned him off. Ismael will take us down and still be here. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cn0k9j1dz94o Quote

Backroom DE. Posted January 6 Backroom Posted January 6 Figured it was a matter of time for Mason. Every time they won a match they went right back to losing. Rookie manager as well so no credit in the bank. A big risk that definitely hasn't paid off for them. Quote

davulsukur Posted Friday at 19:50 Posted Friday at 19:50 Our relegation rivals Oxford, have appointed Matt Broomfield as their new head coach. Quote

Oxford United are a Club with good foundations, ambition, and a playing group with significant potential, and that matches exactly where I am as a coach. “I want my teams to work hard, attack with purpose, and play with a clear identity. Everyone has to understand their role, be accountable, and deliver consistently. “I can’t wait to get out onto the grass and begin working with the players and staff to help this Club push forward this season and beyond.” 2 Quote
Backroom DE. Posted Friday at 21:19 Backroom Posted Friday at 21:19 Huh, I always thought it was better to be lazy, attack without purpose and play with a muddled identity. You learn something new every day. 7 Quote
JHRover Posted Friday at 21:23 Posted Friday at 21:23 Made little difference to Luton last year when he went into a struggling side and failed to keep them up so strange that Oxford are going down the same route with a weaker squad than Luton had. Unless they're putting one eye on next season potentially being in League One. Quote

Backroom DE. Posted 20 hours ago Backroom Posted 20 hours ago I see Josh Sargent refused to play for Norwich today. Big boost for the rest of the teams at the bottom if he causes disruption there. Quote
MarkBRFC Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago That appointment for Oxford nails down another relegation spot for me. Leaves one left between us ,Charlton, Portsmouth & Norwich. Quote
davulsukur Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago WBA have appointed Eric Ramsey as their new manager. (I have no idea either) Quote
Backroom DE. Posted 3 hours ago Backroom Posted 3 hours ago Technically has some first team experience which is more than could be said for Mason, but it's in the MLS, so who knows how relevant that is. If he has anything about him he should be able to stabilise the team at the very least. Quote
