Ex-Toffee Adam Forshaw, Aynsley Pears, Carter, Jake Garrett, Harry Leonard, Ryan Alebiosu and Sidnei Tavares all miss out on the squad, whilst new arrival Sean McLoughlin will watch on from the stand.

So, we are missing 7 first-teamers. Sounds like most of last year. When we got guys back healthy, we charged up the table.

I gather he didn't disgrace himself on his debut.

From what I've seen of his highlights he's quick, without being lightning and skillful enough. Think Emerton (obviously Bret was in a different class, but that kind of 'athletic wide player who gets up and down').

As a defender I'd much rather play against Ohashi than Gueye.
