If Gudjohnsen is out for the season then I'd say that's relegation nailed on

A huge blow if proven correct.

Yuri has been run into the ground - at risk, IMO, from longer term injury.

Think we now need 2 more decent strikers to give us even half a chance.

Have to agree gudjohnsen being available was our realistic hope of staying up if he is out for the season then we are in for a lonnnng spring

Unfortunately plays right into their hands itl be the reason and excuse even though we all know dreadful/slow/lack of recruitment  plus a poor manager in the real reason

Not doubting Mercer's source but that would be a U turn of epic proportions from the Club.

On the 17th of Jan (6 days ago) Ismael was quoted as saying in the LT Gudjohnssen would be in contention to play on the 31st of Jan v Hull City!

Questions need to be asked if they've got it that wrong.

If he is out for the season then it's full panic mode IMO. We won't be able to get a good replacement in, partly because we're Venky Rovers, partly because everyone else knows we're now Venky Panic Rovers and will stick an extra million on any asking prices.

If Gudjohnsen is out longer, we're going down aren't we?

Wouldn't surprise me if they rushed him back or pushed him too much to get him back and he broke down with something worse.

They're only excuse for our situation is that we have injuries, they'll be desperate to get him back.

Makes no sense unless it's a new injury. Rovers Instagram on 9th January clearly showed him back on the grass "stepping up the recovery" in training.

No club gets this level of injuries. This isn't bad luck at all.

Kargbo is absolutely awful. The very definition of a headless chicken. Also that little hop/skip thing he does before he sets off running reminds me of scrappy doo.

It's much closer to road runner... Meep meep

Pretty sure he's banging them in the for under 21s.

Find it quite odd Dlamini is getting minutes ahead of better academy players

Joseph haven't scored this season for the U21s. He has 6 or 7 appearances.

Neither has Dlamini.

I would also like to see Joseph before Dlamini, but in fairness none of them are probably ready.

Maybe not to this extent but we had a load of injuries under JDT and around Christmas last season loads were out

It's not like we haven't had an excessive amount of injuries since then. It may have stepped up a notch this season, but it isn't the first time we have wondered if something is fundamentally wrong causing this many injuries.

If there's any truth in Mercer's rumour that's not really the main concern is it?

How can we diagnose a player as out for 2 weeks one minute and out for the rest of the season 6 days later?

We have signed a lot of crap from lesser leagues that you would think would be desperate to make a name for themselves.

Baradji falls into the same category. More ability than the others but no sign of desperation to give his all and really show what hes about.

Baradji has come from a lesser quality league and a long injury lay-off so probably needs a bit of time to adapt. Has looked great in spells, but also large spells have been frustrating, but I think at the moment our only defensive sound midfielder is Tronstad and he can't carry the whole team by himself.

I think I would scrap the 3-5-2 for now, seeing as we're not playing Alebiosu anyway. Put Pickering or Ribeiro back in the team and let Atcheson play RB, with McLoughlin and O'Riordan as CB's. That will give us extra support in the middle, and we can play de Neve in a 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 with good support, and same with Jørgensen on the other flank. Tronstad, Baradji and Forshaw as CMs.

Simple answer really the player got a significant injury in training within the last 5 days

This is absolutely unreal if true.Is everything and everyone transpiring against us?

Yeah right.

Or we misdiagnosed the injury initially causing a more serious injury to occur.

(Same thing seems to have happened to Kargbo according the LT report on him reproduced above)

Not disputing that at all could well have been the case but as such for balance any player can get injured any time so the quote from 6 days ago may not be relevant to today as there would have been time on the pitch to pick up a new injury or re-injure

Look at the post I was responding to.

Every season we have a number of players out injured.Under jdt towards the end of his time the likes of Garrett and Markanday where starting regularly.Brittain having to play at left back.Season after Garrett couldn't get a game In league 2

The post I was responding to said we couldn't point the blame at the medical guy because he has been here since 2021

There was videos and pictures of Gudjohnson back in training if he is out then something has happened on the training ground or we have rushed him back

It is of course possible that he could have picked up an entirely separate and unrelated season ending injury on the training pitch whilst working his way back to fitness from the first injury but I wouldn't exactly consider it likely.

So if it's the latter, it's not acceptable is it?

No but again like I said the post I responded to was suggesting our injury problems are something new

When we have a load of players out every season at more or less the sake time of year

Well, does that not in itself indicate a problem behind the scenes or are you trying to suggest this season and the last couple of seasons are entirely par for the course everywhere?

I would say playing Kargbo for two games when he had a muscle tear, Cantwell being out for over two months with what was initially described as a "kick on the knee" and Gudjohnssen being potentially ruled out for the season shortly after returning to training and being initially diagnosed as out for 2 weeks are all highly irregular.
