Who was it who derogatorily said we might “end up with somebody like Colby Bishop” a few weeks ago. That would be like signing Zlatan at the moment.

I suggested his name based on his agent, and the fact that I thought he was crap enough to just about be an achievable target.  Think we have been linked a few times in the past and Rovers do like to revisit old targets

"Like Zlatan", may be pushing it, he has one goal this season, & that was in August.  Makes Ohashi look like Haaland by comparison

But it seems we don't even have enough of a budget for a signing of that "calibre"

Kilian Fischer apparently being looked at

He’s starting for Wolfsburg tonight, I think we can file that one away alongside the Aron Donnum link.

Perspective called for.

Please read my post carefully.

I stated three personal 'could not sees' and using Nicko's adjective, found it bizarre Rovers should make an enquiry.  If you were aware of the source then I feel you would agree it was very likely an enquiry, for whatever reason, was made

I suspect it is true they enquired if he's available on loan. I imagine it's fairly routine for clubs to enquire about a number of players to see who is and isn't available for transfer. 99% of those calls come to nothing.

Blackburn Rovers are making a late move for Motherwell’s goalscoring Zimbabwean striker Tawanda Maswanhise.

Rovers have money for a goalscorer and are willing to pay up to £1.5 million for the African who has been a big hit in the SPFL.

Maswanhise spent his youth years at Leicester City but has emerged as a serious player in recent months.

Blackburn have been watching Maswanhise and hope a late move can pay off as rivals have been linked without making bids.

Rovers have an offer on the table for Bailey Cadamarteri at Sheffield Wednesday but that has yet to be accepted by the club’s administrators.

Wrexham are considering a move for Cadamarteri as Wednesday look for as much money as possible in their current crisis.

Maswanishe signals a 3 across the front.  Scores well in Scotland.  Unsure if better than Youan but indicted a shift in tactics.

Scores well in Scotland does not correlate to english football, same situation with the Dutch League.

I'll be 100% honest in I've watched abit of motherwell this year along with other Scottish teams and Maswanishe has also been a standout.
Looks abit chaotic but is never afraid of taking on a full back.

Rovers or Rangers/Celtic?  I wonder who he might choose?

Also, the linked story claims he may cost up to £5M, so it would be like Cleary all over again

"Glaswegian rivals Rangers have also been monitoring Maswanhise, but Celtic are in pole position - and it would cost around £5million to lure him from Jens Berthel Askou."

Maswanhise is probably the best player we've been linked with in a while, find it very hard to believe we could pull that off though unsurprisingly.
