davulsukur Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) We still need to cut 2 players from the 27. Feels like it would be Hedges and 1 other. Easy make a case for De Neve or Henriksson but I don't think it will be either of them. Henriksson was signed on a contract until 2029, so someone believes he'll come good at some point. More likely to be Picks or Ribeiro, might even just pay them off and cut them loose, whichever is cheapest. Edited 18 hours ago by davulsukur 2 Quote

If Damien Johnson only names the 20 players (or less if we have some U21 players involved) who feature in tonight's squad in our 25,. then others can be added later, they just cannot be removed from the 25 man list unless they are sold or loaned elsewhere (there are still some windows open - Portugal, Netherlands, Turkey, Greece are some of the bigger ones Edited 17 hours ago by KentExile 2 Quote
RevidgeBlue Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Thanks both, should be Hedges plus one other obviously. I'd go for either Pickering or Ribeiro. Wouldn't be averse to leaving another out if we thought there were any decent free agents we could land. Quote

Maybe he is our super sub that will catapult us into mid table obscurity. Amazing what a freshly ground single source Colombian medium roast coffee squeezed through an Aeropress will do for your optimism. Maybe we play him second half of the season, he scores a bagful of goals to keep us up, Pasha is fired and the Venky's sell the club and we sell him in the summer for big money to pay for our squad rebuild? 2 1 Quote

If whoever the new guy is wants to play a back 4 (and isn't told he has to play Cashin there), Pickering & Ribeiro may come back into consideration Probably also depends on how bad Pratts injury is, could be up to 8 weeks, so they may leave him out and then loan him to a National League team (non league loans out can still be done) for the final month or so of the season Edited 17 hours ago by KentExile 1 Quote

Emerald Isle Rover Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Hedges Kargbo Henriksson de neve Tavares shouldn’t be an issue tbh Quote

For me, Pickering should be in the team or on the bench as a minimum, he’s a reliable and competent player at this level. 1 Quote

Backroom Tom Posted 16 hours ago Backroom Posted 16 hours ago Hedges and Kargbo should be left out, they aren’t likely to be fit so makes it an easier decision 2 Quote

philipl Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Cashin was saved by a blind referee missing a blatant penalty from one of the worst debuts in Rovers history. That said it is premature to write Cashin, Jorgensen and Dapo off as total disasters just yet. Quote

One game cannot write a player off been our best defender the last 2 good against hull away in the cup awful v Ipswich then the last two our best at the back 3 Quote

Saw him on TV playing for Derby as the wing back on the right of a 3-5-2. That doesnt suit him either. Agree. He isn't a wing back, he doesn't have the ability in the final third. But he's a good strong defender with an incredible engine, who can carry the ball way up the pitch to hand off to more technical players, and can get back into position like nobody's business. He is a good full back, but anybody who plays him as a wing back is wasting him. 3 Quote

OJRovers Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Is it too early to add Jorgensen to the same bin as Hendrickson? Looked completely lacking in the necessary quality so far. You wouldn't be able to tell we spent £3.5million (a lot of money for Rovers) on him. Has made no positive impact so far on the relegation battle. If M.Gueye had put those performances in over the last few games he would have been rightly slated. 3 Quote

For me you need a minimum of 6-8 games or significant minutes in that timeframe to get a good gage cashin for instance once again probably motm tonight again but after Ipswich was put in Shane Duffy territory Quote
roversfan99 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago But with Cashin that was one game, and after he had played well at Hull. The question is, what is Jorgensen about? What are his strengths? 1 Quote

He’s not looked like much as yet but I’ll give him a chance and he scored at Swansea and tonight, saved a certain Wednesday goal. One thing I am fairly sure of is that he won’t have cost anywhere near £3.5m. Quote

Doesn’t matter he got lambasted called slow and small and poor signing who brings nothing to the team etc etc Jorgensen is slightly different coming from a different country (I’m not defending the signing btw) different pace etc I think his movement has been good and I’d really like to see him flank either side with gudjohnsen. For me the next run of fixtures should give us a better idea of what he’s about if anything at all Quote
