I actually think there's a chance that awarding Wednesday the points might at least be discussed.

I can't see how that would fly considering the Ipswich game setting the precedent.

I saw it coming after 30 minutes. Ismael must think a curse has been put on him at Ewood.

He decided to 'align' himself with that curse.

This is very helpful for the 135 + 15  campaign (where is it?).

I clearly remember Steve Waggott's failed attempts to get Pasha(and thru to Venkys) to agree to a completely new pitch rather than minor patching up.....but it was one of the battles he kept losing.

There are 4 Water Guzzlers at Old Trafford Cricket Club that could have been hired for 3 months.

File all this under short-termism and under-powered Management.

I’d be inclined to argue that we’re so neglectful as to have forfeited the match by not solving a known issue. Zero effort has been made to provide a solution since the Ipswich abandonment. You could have rain covers at half time. Not ideal for subs wanting to stay warm, but abandoning a match every time there’s moderate-to-severe rain in Blackburn also isn’t ideal.

They ought to throw the book at us, teach the owners and Pasha a lesson and hand out a hefty fine.

In the meantime - expect a club announcement of a shake up in the ground staff, as though that’s even remotely the issue.

In some ways the club are lucky we've been winning both times. Imagine we'd been losing instead? Would we have seen such a shrug of the shoulders reaction from the competition's supposed regulators?

That would involve the EFL breaking their own rules.

Not at all.

They have complete discretion.

(But chose not to exercise it last time)

The owners and their stooges deserve the ridicule they will rightly receive from the footballing world. Happening twice shines a light on our decaying facilities. The players and the fans don’t deserve the humiliation though. I suppose on the bright side, anything that piles on the pressure and hastens their departure is a good thing.

Also should be noted by the fans and management team that a small squad struggling with injuries and depth have just wasted an hour of exertion in tough conditions for no reward whatsoever, and will now physically and mentally have to go again.

I hope when more players break down and injuries are picked up there's no head scratching going on. By the time we've played our rearranged game against Wednesday we will effectively have played the best part of 2 extra league games over everyone else having had two cancelled with 15-20 minutes remaining in each.

That's an extra demand we could really, really do without but has been imposed on these players and manager.

They have discretion within their rules - those rules don’t include awarding the win to a team who was losing,

Indeed. All we’re taking away today is three yellow cards and a bad injury to Forshaw.

My reading of  the rules you previously posted was - they can do whatever the hell they like.

They have chosen to follow previous precedents to date but my understanding was they're under no obligation whatsoever to do so.

If them rollers were the solution, why didn’t they have 10 of them? Why weren’t they out at half time? Why didn’t they have people who could actually push them at a decent pace

I think that we were playing so bad despite leading by a goal that we would have eventually lost the game. At least this way when we replay the game we might have some of our injured players back and be a better proposition. We may also have some more players ( optimistic I know) as a result of the January transfer window.

Disagree - think we were cruising to 3 points. Wednesday didn't even put up a fight (hilariously enough their only chance came from the pitch holding the ball up).

It’s a bleak midwinter for Rovers fans. A week with 2 last kick of the game equalisers conceded and a second home match of the season postponed whilst leading in the second half due to our dilapidated facilities. I don’t think our chances of recruiting new supporters are being helped here. It’s meant to be entertainment and they want our money for the privilege. Bah humbug.

They can’t change the result of the match.

They can say the score at the time of abandonment stands.

They can order a partial or full replay.

They have discretion re terms/conditions of any replay.

Yeah, not saying they would but wouldn't be surprised if it gets mooted.

What if it happens again on Tuesday night ?

I wouldn't be surprised, if the Oxford game is postponed, or abandoned, there's a lot of rain to come before Tuesday night.

I am not going if rain is forecast !
