Forgot about him.

Like him, would have had him at one point but his star has fallen somewhat I'd say.

Smacks of preparing for life in League 1/2 long term.

Could be better, could be worse.

Really?!  just look at the video above.

Think he's be a terrible option, seems a yes man so 100% see him being appointed.

I wouldn’t mind Ainsworth due to him being a supporter of the club and he’d actually care. But since leaving Wycombe his stock has dropped too far for him to be contention.

Graham Alexander wouldn’t be a bad shout, done very well with Bradford taking them from bottom half in league two to currently sitting in the play offs of league one.

Not claiming to be in the know but I've just been coming back from work in Bolton to Wilmslow where I live, and seen what I thought was Savage speeding into a shoe shops car park.  Took a while to catch up but sure enough managed to catch him.  As I got out my car he's got a shop assistant helping him.  This little boy is carrying 7 pairs of white trainers for him to his car.  As Savage was sat there doing nothing he had ample time to tell me he won't be coming to Ewood - so take from that what you will.

I think you just want to show off that you live in Wilmslow 😁

Misty eyed nostalgia is taking a grip again on too many as if Hughes walks back in and the last 20 years evaporate.

Reality needs to dawn i'm afraid, we'd be far safer getting Mowbray although that certainly wouldn't be my first second or third choice..

First para bang on. Suggesting Mowbray in any capacity though is falling right into that same misty eyed nostalgia. He is finished.

I'd actually have Alexander over a lot of the other names being banded about in terms of a left field punt.

Got to be realistic our squad is barely Championship standard at the min and if we go down we need someone who knows that league because we won't be buying ourselves out of it this time.

Seems like a guy whose earned his stripes and might be suited to working with what we have now.

It isn't is it when compared to what is being banded about, despite being ill he still has a better recent cv than a lot of the misty eyed stuff.

And a better resume at this level than most of them, we need to start dealing in facts i'm afraid.

At the risk of sounding like an anti boycotting "happy clapper" why would he leave Bradford at this point to move here?

Without checking I seem to think he's been abysmal in some of his previous jobs.

So it'd be a no from me on that one.

Gillingham are currently 14th in League Two and Ainsworth has a win percentage of 30.95% in 42 games.

So it’s either Graham Alexander or Gary Rowett typo!

Mowbray "finished" the moment he got us promoted from League 1.

He could at an extreme stretch be the proverbial "safe pair of hands" to steer us to safety for the rest of the season if Johnson suddenly bombed and we were absolutely desperate but a "Hell no" beyond that.

Failed really badly at QPR.

And is failing at Gillingham with a relatively big budget.

Next manager?

Who will be pliant, be aligned and content to mouth the project?
Who is with the right agency?
Who will kiss RG’s arse?
Who will accept incoming players selected by RG based on the financial framework rather than ability?
Who will accept the team being selected by RG?
Who will make bland platitudes in interviews with the media?
Who will be cheap?

EDIT

Who may already have connections with RG/Pasha/Kean?

Who will not be a strong personality used to getting his/her own way?

Yeah just checked.

Would have taken a punt on him when he was at Wycombe, maybe not now, but I would never under-estimate the capacity of this mob to find someone worse.

If we want someone who's been round the block 29 times, been sacked from more Clubs than you can shake a stick at, and done absolutely nothing worthwhile in forever then surely Steve Bruce must also be on that shortlist.

Surprised you haven't endorsed him as well.

I'm not "endorsing" anyone as such, I'm just surprised at the negativity , I'll get behind whoever gets it.

Same old same old, so many say who they don't want but won't say who they do want.

Nothing changes.

Gareth Ainsworth has applied for the Rovers job at every opportunity since Mowbray left.

Not even our mugs will be silly enough to hire him. Would be disastrous.

And the facts are he is finished and shouldn't even be brought up. No way on earth he keeps us up, he couldn't do that when he was younger and better.

So you are just being a contrarian?

People are just saying based on names mentioned who they would want and who they wouldnt want. Doesnt have any indication on whether people would "get behind" them.

You specifically seemed to think that Coleman would be a good appointment. Why are you so reluctant to elaborate on why?

Fella we say who we don't want because we're linked with dross.

I'd happily take Bilic.

I reckon it is Graham Alexander not Ainsworth.

He has already got a job at Bradford, so a no go !

Rowett is the logical one , from the underwhelming list , imo !

I doubt he would be interested!

We are Blackburn Rovers anymore!
