  1. Aye and it appears we're going to sign one (Chapman) and then loan him out. Makes sense.
  2. Because we have no midfield Tom. All i see Lennihan and Mulgrew do most of the time is launch it to Graham, tired and predictable. We miss out the midfield because there's no f*cker creating or controlling anything in centre mid, all we do is chase, there's no quality in there unless Rothwell plays. Every time I watch our midfielders get the ball they always seem to have someone up their arse with their back to goal and either give it straight back or play sideways, hardly anyone has the ability to find themselves in space and receive the ball on the half turn to set up play... When we do everyone is stood on their heels. If he doesn't look at the midfield he's picked in the past 2 games and feel anything other than shame then he's kidding himself. 51st minute before our first shot, maybe that should tell us that something needs to change Mogga. He's turning out to be very tactically Inept or naive this season. I can very quickly see things turning to sh*t and Blackburn Rovers reverting to type. He/we need results and fast.
  3. Both absolutely terrible. Williams is a centre half, never been a full back.
  4. Crap. Another game without no midfield, no creativity, chasing the game all the time, never controlling possession. I've seen enough of this Evans and Smallwood nonsense, f*cking rubbish. Another game with Joe Rothwell wasted away on the bench, our most creative player sat there whilst we create the sum total of Jack sh*t. People at the club talking about needing support from the fans, give them something to get them off their seats then! We look relegation fodder. Have a word with yourself Mogga.
  5. What I don't get is how Davenport was brought in to challenge for a direct spot in our first team but if we sign Chapman he could likely be loaned out. Mental.
  6. Thinking back to Sheff UTD, QPR and Rotherham... Hardly anything of note happened in those first halves or even for the majority of those game. The manager and players have to give the fans a reason to get behind them else, like in those games, the match will just pass us by.
  7. Don't know what's gone on but he's surplus to requirements for some reason... Despite scoring 24 goals last season. Guy is a natural finisher and 3 years younger than DG. like I said, doesn't strike me as a Mowbray type signing anyway.
  8. Best cheapo option is Brett Pitman IMV. Marquis I think is worth a shot at the right price. Don't see either as a Mowbray type signing though.
  9. Furious. A lot of organising and messing around for someone to watch my son so I could go today. Only to turn up and see the same old tactics that haven't worked. I saw on twitter he was blaming the defending, fair enough but perhaps blame yourself Tony? Making things far too complicated than they need be. Football doesn't have to be difficult, play your best players and play them in their best positions, when something isn't working, change it. Don't stick with it week after week whilst it costs us points. We lost the game before we kicked off today, you can tell the players don't like or understand these tactics and neither do the fans. Everyone was saying the same today, we were all bewildered. I wouldn't have many other blokes managing us but I have been pretty dissapointed by him not just tactically but by a couple of things he's said in the media too recently. He said about us spending enough money on players so that we should expect to beat teams like Derby and Leeds (words to that effect) and I'm sorry but it's not all about money in this league. Look at Burnley and Cardiff, they're well managed, they get the best out of what they have, they got the right recruitment, not throwing tons of money about dangerously like Forest. I admire his ambition but he needs to show more faith in his current signings. Which brings me on to the game.... My dad and I felt sorry for Reed today, he and Nyambe were the only ones who really turned up. The rest were poor, Graham and Rothwell gave us something we should have had from the start. Why Rothwell isn't starting I have no idea, we always look so much better with him in the side, considering we actually own him (unlike Palmer), perhaps we should be giving him more game time? Fair enough, he did almost cost us with a stray pass but the lad needs minutes get his awareness up to scratch. Preston will go away thinking they're brilliant when we can be so much better, I can accept it when another team is better than us but not when the team and the manager let everyone and themselves down in the way they did today. I can see us running into a run of bad form, this happens in football but this seems totally self inflicted from tinkering Tony. In a week/month were attendances have been a hot topic, today doesnt really do us any favours. I was thinking about what I need to do to attend the Wigan game but this nonsense has made my mind up and I'll spend it with my son instead.
  10. Got my ticket. Will be a tough game, a betting man would say a draw is likely. As far as their fans go, jealous bunch. Blackpool fans i've met are definitely a better bunch of folks, you can actually have a chat with them on good terms. Preston seem to be bitter of any local club who've achieved more than them in recent history... Which is pretty much every Lancashire club in this league.
  11. Most frustrating game in a while that i can remember. Battered them in 2nd half and got done with a complete sucker punch which you just knew would happen. Rothwell looked class again when he came on. I really think we look a better side with him on the pitch. I thought Palmer also did well. Nyambe run riot down the right and our centre halves won everything but the header that cost us the goal. Armstrong is really finding his feet on the left, se great first touches and unlucky not to score. Disappointed with the result but gopd to see us fight back. 2 points dropped.
  12. This is the typical sort of game that we would expect Rovers to win but will struggle and come away with a point. Being defensive against this lot isn't the answer this time, get at them, put them to the sword and lay down a marker to the rest of the league. I think Evans being out will work in iur favour as it may encourage us to play more expansive football. Get Joe Rothwell in there.
  13. If only it was that simple. Thinking about it, isn't that what TM is attempting to do? Players good enough for them prem usually come with a cost and big wages. If there is some good talent knocking about in the lower leagues then clubs like ours have to take a chance in that market. Look at Andre Gray, Jamie Vardy, many players from the Bournemouth squad. I think once you're up there then you can afford to use the promotion funds to spend on Prem standard players but whilst you're in this league you have to buy accordingly.
  14. Gallagher and Reed would be great for us... With Dack atttacting so much attention we might do worse than getting those 2 plus cash for him.
  15. Unfortunately Reed isn't ours and the way Southampton are at the moment he could be on first train home. He'd be a massive signing for us, arguably the biggest signing we could make since TM took over. I never forsee us playing badly with him in the side just because he sets such a high standard to the rest to raise their game. I think we all just hope he loves it enough to want to stay here but he's an ambitious lad and will want to make a name for himself at Southampton.
  16. Start of the season when fixture list was released i couldn't see us winning many. Now though, we have strength in depth and a decent amount of points on the board without particularly playing that well. We are very diffucult side to beat and that will take you far in this league. I've seen many teams and not one of them has particularly stood out to me. I can see maybe Derby, Norwich, WBA, Aston Villa and Leeds being up there leaving at least one play off spot looking well up for grabs. I don't think this being our first season back should make a difference, we have some good players now and with a bit of luck on our side we could have easily been top of the league. I don't expect us to reach the playoffs but it's certainly a realistic goal for these players in my view, we have quality, grit, determination, leaders and players who hate to get beat. The teams that get out of this league merely take every game as it comes and i think the lack of expectation of our club could play into our hands. There are bigger clubs carrying the weight of expectation into every game, we just turn up every game without burden and give teams a real hard game. 8th without playing well? I'd say that's a team capable of a playoff push. To summarise my thoughts... I expect mid table but we can very realistically have a good playoff push.
  17. Excellent result, crap game. It doesn't take a genius to workout the correlation between us playing well with Rothwell in midfield and poorly without him in there. Williams was outstanding at centre half, looked the real deal there and Lennihan was also class. Other than that no one particularly played well. 3 points is the main thing but that centre midfield pairing needs to be broken up because we won't keep getting results like that with those 2 in there, too similar, too slow, too predictable and we just constantly miss out the midfield and go long because there is no creativity in midfield... Meaning we never really dominate possession. Good result, on to the next one.
  18. Yeah i remember him being almost forgotten about... Unfortunately i think BB has cost us about x7 times more than MGP!
  19. He might need to start a game to do that... ?
  20. Well i did hear that he's straight outa compton...
  21. Got to watch out for Eze tomorrow, decent player.
  22. He can play with two feet but is a pretty big and robust type of player. Rothwell can turn on a six pence, has great ability to pass and move into space in tight areas. Moves the ball around really well. Personally i see him as the sort of player you build a midfield around as we should have done with Cairney. To waste him out wide would be a great shame, coincidentally, something that Bowyer did with Cairney. Some of our best football this season has been when he has made a start, he allows us to play through the midfield instead of missing it out. Against Sheff UTD we were constantly going long to Graham, we looked far too predictable, lost the midfield battle and ultimately lost the game. Against Bolton first half and at times against WBA we looked far more dangerous when our defenders could pick their heads up and find Rothwell and Palmer, rather than just putting their foot through it. It makes us look better than just another championship side but one capable of actually doing something in this league.
