  1. Fans were right. Shock.
  2. In January we were within touching distance of the playoffs, if we’d spent the £6m on a few players at that point to help when injuries kicked in, then we could have still be contending at the top end. So blowing that money has had a big negative impact on this season.
  3. A win finally but It’s 4 days since he played Bennett at number 10 for 75 mins. Time to go still.
  4. Fingers crossed the tombola gives the same midfield for Saturday.
  5. Where is Ben Gladwin? Genuinely couldn’t be any worse than Bennett at number 10 if Dack’s head has gone.
  6. Shocking to think that the lad that scored the winner and pretty much ran the game for Stoke cost the same as Brereton (£6m).
  7. I’m more bothered about Smallwood and Evans getting picked ahead of Travis AND Reed than Dack going AWOL. What game is Mowbray watching when he keeps picking them two, just to leisurely pass it sideways and backwards??
  8. Managers live and die by their decisions. To start at home to Stoke with Smallwood, Evans and Bennett and not change that until 72 mins is reason to sack him. Tony should do the right thing and walk.
  9. The Stoke lads might as well bring out a BBQ and some cans for the second half, enjoy the sunshine, it's that easy for them.
  10. So Rothwell gets a game because Dack isn’t playing. Typical. Evans and Smallwood instead of Reed and Travis. Abysmal.
  11. Setting off soon, might just turn round if I hear that Evans, Smallwood, Bennet and Conway are in the midfield.
  12. Mowbray talking about 4-1-4-1 formation, it’s all a pipe dream. a) you need 2 proper wingers b) you need 2 proper number 8’s c) there’s no place for Dack d) there’s no way that tony is going to play 1 DM with 5 more forward thinking players in front. e) where would this leave all of our Wide Strikers who wouldn’t fit that formation.
  13. I don’t think he deserves another summer transfer window. It makes you sick looking at some of the players that have torn us apart this season from Brentford,Norwich etc etc costing a fraction of what we have spent on players that are frankly League One standard. The exciting players we do sign don’t get picked (Rothwell/Chapman).
  14. I’d have more respect for Mowbray if he accepted we can’t defend, are going to get beaten by Villa, but gave the young attacking players a chance like Rothwell, Butterworth, Brereton, Chapman. What did we learn from today? Nothing.
  15. We don't need to add "depth" or "competition", the word is QUALITY which is severely below what is required in this league. That is going to take signing 4/5 players to go straight into the team, not sit on the sidelines untrusted to play Tony's way.
  16. Spot on unfortunately, same as last season's League One team. At least 10 of them will start in August. Anyone we do sign will be left to 'build fitness' for 6 months, by which time any positivity will have been sucked out of them.
  17. If Mowbray is being honest and he's only just realised we need an overhaul in defence then that is a massive worry. It was plain to see in summer that we needed a CB and a LB. There are PLENTY of defenders available for a fraction of what we spent in summer (£7.6m). As much as I like Mowbray as a man, I don't think I'd give him the summer. He has messed up every transfer window he's been in charge of so far, I can't see that changing.
  18. Part of me wants Mowbray to loan out Rothwell just to see what he does somewhere else who gives him a proper chance and run in the team. If he’s not going to play here then we might as well send him out. Ridiculous to single him out whereas Williams and Raya have been making errors week in week out. Another point is why did we bother signing Chapman in January? He might as well still be at Boro if he’s not going to play.
  19. I really don’t know why Mowbray buys the players he buys. There’s only Smallwood who is a Mowbray-style player. Yet he buys the like of Rothwell, Chapman, Armstrong, Brereton and just doesn’t play them in their proper positions or doesn’t trust them to play every game. He’s completely reliant on the players inherited from Colye. Despite spending millions.
  20. I was expecting the replay to show Graham making more contact that it looked at the time. But no, it's worse. That decision is horrendous. Between that, the Nuttall one and Dack, you have got to question the integrity of the ref.
  21. Summed it up for me when we're kicking the ball out TWICE for their players rolling around faking injury. This was a LOCAL DERBY, you don't kick it out, especially when it's obvious they are just time wasting. Pathetic.
