What formation are we playing? Why was Williams so central?

Exactly, Conway has had maybe 2 good games this year. It would have been very interesting if Samual had been fit this year to see who would be playing between him and BB.

Every time I’ve seen Rothwell come on in the second half, he’s looked good too,yet isn’t getting a look in. Brereton looked way out of his depth today.

Decent performance until the subs of Palmer and Brereton after which we lost our shape. Winger desperately needed. The Brereton experiment has to stop. He’s a liability at the minute. Needs a season in League One.

Elliott Ward. Wasn't there another small fast striker we signed at a similar time (probably by Lambert)?

To be fair to Mowbray, we've already got a lot of young regular players in the 1st team (Raya, Nyambe, Bell, Armstrong, Reed, Lennihan). I said it before when someone mentioned Brereton's age/experience. That can't be the factors holding him back from starting, because he's got more Championship playing experience than most of the starting XI. Agreed that Rodwell and Rothwell should have more game time. They have both played well when brought in.

I’m going to take the positives from the last 2 games, we should have had 6 points and were for the majority of the games the better team. That is promising against 2 of the better /form teams in the league. Just need to cut out the moments of madness and close out games. A decent left back and a striker who can hold the ball up are needed.

Nuttall is banging them in for fun in the u23s, and I think he deserves a chance to play when Graham goes off, Brereton has had plenty and shown very little.

It wouldn't be 'throwing in' BB, he's played at this level a lot more than others picked in the team (Raya, Nyambe, Bell, Smallwood, etc). If he was playing well enough for Forrest last season to attract Premier League interest, then why isn't he good enough to play for us now? I don't think TM has properly explained that.

Not 100% sure, but over the last 2 games, Williams has been pushing forward on the left hand side when we have the ball. A lot further up than usual. Mulgrew has been coming wider to cover. It is almost like we switch to a back 3 until we lose the ball and he slots back in. I think it has been fairly effective, although Williams decision making is not always the best when on the ball. He should have fired in the winner instead of squaring it yesterday.

Rothwell looks good, needs more game time. BB nothing of note again.

A Benno-fistpump-themed one would be good.

I think that a more likely option should be added to the poll: "Venkys return to the next home game without any apology/acknowledgment" That would be the interesting one. I personally wouldn't welcome their return without a further acknowledgement that the fans were right during all the Kean/Agnew/Shaw/Shebby nightmare and explanation of why they didn't act in the club's best interest during that period.

It's a "let's set out for nil nil" lineup if I've ever seen one.

I'd play: Raya Nyambe-Lennihan-Mulgrew-Bell ------Bennett--Reed Brereton-Dack---Conway -----------Graham If Brereton can't get a start when everyone else has been poor, when will he ever start?

Mowbray’s tinkering has come home to roost. He’s admitted he’s trying to change the system that has worked well for us over the last season. These players aren’t good enough to adapt to a different system. Stick to what we know and get back to doing the basics.

Best thing is to forget about Brereton, he is a write-off if we're going to carry on playing the formations we are playing. Hope that Venkys put up some money to fill the gaping holes in the team: - Central striker who can hold the ball up - Centre back - Winger

Is Mulgrew going to be fit for this one?

Definitely saw glimpses of Brereton's strengths today. Get him running at defenders and he's a handful. Still not seen any threat of him scoring goals, but hopefully that will come. What did everyone think of the Bell penalty shout? Looks a blatant pen from where I was sat.

Pretty clear that we don't play as well when teams sit back and allow us the ball. But 3 points is 3 points! Special mention for Williams, really impressive today was Del Boy.

I'd get Rothwell on in midfield to give us some forward thinking

A lot of people forgetting that he has come on to directly replace Graham, at Bristol City, played centrally and was awful. Didn't hold the ball up and we ended up losing heavily. I think after that, Mowbray hasn't trusted him to do the same job.
