He wasn't outmuscled, he just didn't seem to have the match fitness to play more than one match a week. I'm surprised he hasn't had more games.

I hope so, he's not much competition for what we've got. I think Mowbray brought him in as a full back, but he's not very good in either position. -

The first match I saw him in live this season was the 2-1 win against West Brom in which he came on for Phillips and every pass/touch seemed to lead to West Brom pressure. He had an absolute nightmare for about 20 minutes and when he wasn't in possession he was jogging about. -
Well I can see the league table, but I don't watch every other teams matches as religiously as I do Rovers because I simply don't have the time. As I watch Rovers weekly, sometimes twice weekly, I think I know the players pretty well and combined with the knowledge that we don't score enough goals, and have suffered from inept recruitment, I think it's quite amazing we're still in with a chance.
-
Well we've disagreed about that before. I think we're at least three first team players away from being genuine promotion candidates and beyond that need more depth in areas. The difference this season is having an ambitious manager and for me he's done an excellent job with relatively little backing. January was a travesty, players continue to deliver inconsistent performances, goalscorers contrinue to misfire, but yet we're still in the play off spots. I rarely follow other teams progress but at a guess, I'd say they are in the same position because they have decent managers too, excluding the parachute payment teams.

Where did I say they weren't different standards? But even so, in both of those squads we still had some poor players just as we do now, the big difference is that we had far superior first choice attacking options which is the point I was making and you seemed to miss.
-
No idea, but I do know the two players I highlighted are massively lacking in quality for a play off push. I find myself comparing the current squad to the promotion squads of 1992 and 2001, and both were far superior with notable strikers in both teams. Speedie, Newell and Wegerley, Jansen, Bent & Hughes - Brereton, Gallagher and Dack. It's quite amazing this team is still in with a chance.

Morton and Gallagher in the play offs 😩 If we did make the play offs I'd see it more as progress rather than any belief we could go up. Also a hope that next season JDT may get backed as it must be obvious to Gregg and co that if we had a good midfielder and a goalscorer or two, we'd be challenging for the automatics. Fingers crossed this is like Souness's first "season" (it was actually only a few months) with Rovers where we had a squad littered with poor players, and the following season we actually go for it thanks to the club backing the manager and bringing in the required players/getting rid of the ones who aren't up to it.

With a GD of 0 at this stage of the season, I'd say it's obvious. -

Has Brereton come on for Dolan? -

You can't have a team with the likes of Gallagher and Morton in it and expect to keep getting results. We're better without Morton and even on a good day Gallagher struggles to keep up for the majority of the game. -

Morton and Gallagher both passengers, we're pretty much playing with 9. -

From what little I've seen we're trying to pass quickly and instead after a couple of passes giving it away. I thought it'd be a poor game today. -
Not sure about that.

It's annoying that Tony brought on a useless 19 year old who stood a mile offside when an otherwise good goal was scored. Burnley escape again.

Superb 😄

If he was pointing out a successful period in Burnley's history, it's probably best not to snarkily validate it by referencing someone who mentioned the mid 80s.
-
Or BRFCS has its first visitor from a Parallel dimension where Burnley weren't desperately trying to stay in the fourth division. Probably crack though.

Can someone explain this exchange? Have I missed something?
