We played better football without Brereton and Morton in the side but still struggled for goals with Gallagher in the team. Yesterday we had a team with Brereton, Morton, Gallagher and Hedges plodding about. No wonder we lost. It's a shame Buckley got injured as I don't think Morton would be in the team. Buckley is an inconsistent player but nowhere near as poor as Morton. Morton's first instinct is to pass backwards and it's the only quick decision he makes. Going forward he takes an age to make a decision, by which time he's closed down and then it's usually a bad one. And then when he does manage to pass the ball he then stands still. Morton being on the pitch makes Travis a far worse player too. I'd drop Brereton to the bench for Dolan, I don't agree he'd be much better upfront. I don't agree Dolan would be much better upfront either as we've tried that. The only player that could replace Gallagher is Leonard but he looks too young to be expected to suddenly become a goalscoring machine. That's a massive misfire by Gregg and co that we're going to keep suffering for. We can't play Thomas but I'd be resistant to using Hedges as he was so poor yesterday. I don't know what the answer is there. Maybe move JRC forward into his position and Brittain at full back. Brittain looked a lot better when he came on yesterday, maybe he's fully fit now. In short I think we're going to struggle with the same dozy foursome that cost us yesterday.

What's not brilliant is that he did the opposite for us.

Had we brought in a good midfielder and centre forward or two we'd be challenging for the automatics. Waggott, Gregg and co have a lot to answer for and they obviously didn't anticipate the team being in the play off places all season. No ambition, no imagination and no clue.

I'm not sure if it's brave but I'd prefer neither to be on the pitch at the moment.

I think it will be the same result regardless. If we play Wharton we may play generally better, but we're still pitiful at scoring goals and it's not just this season.

The same Brereton who has plodded his way along recently?

We were better with Thomas and Wharton in the team. Those two have to start against Hudds. And just don't play Gallagher, start with ten it'd make no difference - it may actually help.

So would I but having never played in a senior match it's not ideal is it? We shouldn't be putting that much pressure on the kid when the grown ups at the club could have solved the issue months ago.

Serious answers though - there's fuckall apart from a kid who has never played or sticking someone who isn't a goalscorer upfront. January has cost us again.

He tried that and everyone moaned that he was too small to be a centre forward.

He shouldn't be forced to play a 19 year old without a senior goal to his name. Same with A Wharton. Gregg and co carry the blame for this, and a proper CEO wouldn't allow it to happen.

Who does he pick instead of Gallagher?

We started the season with no decent centre forwards and we're going to end it without one. At any other club recruitment would be given their marching orders for failing to secure a better midfielder than Tyler Morton and a better centre forward than Sam fucking Gallagher.

I hope Gallagher is the first out of the door. He's a terrible footballer and a disgrace of a goalscorer.

Thank Christ I don't have to watch Morton any more. Sad times I still have to watch Gallagher.

He hasn't got many options imo, although he should have started Thomas. Buckley is injured. Wharton hasn't played for a while but I still would have started him ahead of Morton. We've got zero options to bench Gallagher.

Well that was utterly shit. Why is Sorba suddenly dropped? Hedges isn't the same player. And why is Morton playing again? Why am I still watching Sam Gallagher plod around? 😩

Because the club fucked up the O'Brien transfer, Buckley is injured, Edun is really poor and the manager thinks Garrett isn't ready to play every match. But yes I agree, for much of the time with Morton on the pitch it's like we're at least one man down.
