Nyambe should be back at least, hopefully Travis too which would allow Buckley to return to his forward role, but Brereton is out so I expect more tinkering. I’ll be very surprised if Gallagher isn’t playing. We could really do with signing a player who knows where the goal is today.
-
The main problems, referee aside, were moving Buckley deeper and the right side being completely benign. In the first half most of the attacks came down the right. Gallagher was jogging about waiting for the ball to come to him and JRC was incapable of keeping up and didn’t have a tackle in him. And for some reason Mowbray thought that was acceptable for over an hour.

After last night I’d like a striker to replace Gallagher and a midfield destroyer. Healey or Maja and a Batty type for midfield with a good engine. -
The thing that always throws Tony is when we have a fullback selection nightmare. And last night he had the massive headache of replacing Travis, so brainwave - he thought let’s change everything! JRC shouldn’t have played. Ayala should have gone in the middle of defence, Lenihan at full back, Davenport for Travis, formation should have remained untouched. Having JRC and Gallagher on the right, and Rothwell and Buckley as a midfield pairing, was handing the game to them.

We were awful and Mowbray got giddy last night, but despite that, had the referee done his job properly we wouldn’t have lost 2-0 and Hull wouldn’t have played like there were no rules.
-
I’m amazed he’s got a new contract. The original price tag has meant that whilst in the Championship he’s always got a place in the squad, and Rovers won’t let him go. No one is going to offer a decent fee for him. If only we had a decent forward to replace him.

Come on, there’s poor and there’s today’s abysmal officiating. Those decisions would have affected the outcome of most games.
-
I’ve no idea but 9 times out of 10 that’s a straight red and a penalty.
-
Difficult to take a shot when he was in a heap on the floor. The defenders foot didn’t touch the ball.
-
Wouldn’t they also be down to ten men?
-
Most football teams that get away with a stonewall penalty and sending off along with a dodgy goal would end the game with a spring in their step Jim. It wasn’t helped by TM’s bizarre set up but any team would have struggled to get a result today with that referee. That said I do worry about the upcoming games we have now BBD is away and we are looking out of ideas and out of luck. They simply don’t look like the same team before Christmas.

Sadly I don’t think a midfield destroyer is in TM’s plans. -
I’ve no idea why he didn’t do that. Lenihan looked comfortable the other day.
-
I took it they were booing the referee.
-
Yep to acclimatise to the match in Chile. It’s the reason he can’t play against Boro. That and Sky moving the match. Had it been Saturday he could have played. I thought Nyambe was out for more than one match.
-
All 12 of them thoroughly deserved it. Along with the dodgy postponement, they played it very well.
-
We’ve no chance against the form team with two fullbacks out and our top scorer in an oxygen tank.
-
You make your own luck but I’ve not seen a referee as biased as that since the mid 90’s.
-
Perfect summary. Hull will do well if they can keep all 12 men fit.
-
Yep, bit of a pisser when you consider why Hull wanted it postponed. Always nice to have a game delayed till you have injuries, suspensions and illnesses - and the team that demanded the postponement are at full strength.
-
It was always the case. Do they have some kind of gagging order on criticising referees? They did then quickly forgot about it.
-
Like the one above?

I can’t see us getting anything out of the next two. Today was the 3 points we needed to make up for the upcoming difficult run of games and missing players. No Brereton, no fullbacks, Mowbray not knowing what to do about it. Oh well it was a nice dream while it lasted.
-
Nah we’ve been dogshit. We shouldn’t be 2-0 down but that was a poor showing. Mowbray got it so wrong and the disappointing thing is that he’s failed with that system before time and time again. You can’t ignore the fact they should have had a man down, a penalty against and a goal disallowed though. That’s got to be the most poorly officiated and biased match I’ve seen in decades.
-
We’ve no chance against Middlesbrough and Luton anyway. No goalscorer, no fullbacks and we’ve gone full Mowbray.
