Thanks for that. I saw lots of rugby lads as well. I should have mentioned them.

Me and the missus wandered through Brig on the day. I saw at least 3 new Rovers shirts. The local undertaker, Ian Wilde, provided a hearse and one car. The mayor of South Ribble was in the car decked out in his chain of office. The first float had a group, "PR5", playing. They were very good but one of their songs was "Take me home, Station Road". Station Road is the main road through t'Brig. The tune, unfortunately, is a Man Utd song. The second float had some lovely dancing girls. I think Bamber Bridge FC had a lot to do with the organisation and it went really well. I didn't see any North End shirts. In the past there was always a good mixture of supporters for these events. The hearse collected the coffin from The Trades Hall where someone read out a speech. The coffin was then transported through the village and back to The Withy Arms where it lay on display. My wife commented that there weren't as many Rovers supporters as when the coffin was carried from The Fox and Hounds to The Aqueduct. She enjoyed that occasion. I explained that Brig is not Blackburn. But, I'm glad that the old tradition has been resumed. Let's hope another resurrection, maybe a double one, takes place next summer.

Wow! You are right. I googled it and it came up with Cambridge (green), Argentina (sky) Airforce ( a medium blue) Royal ( a dark blue) and Oxford (a very dark blue). Personally I'd like Rovers in Airforce blue.

Geta sense of humour?

Is there VAR?
-
How much is that in Rupees?
-
Must sack the manager and sack the board and start again, then.
-
I prefer Everton blue to Man City blue. This new Rovers shirt looks like washed out crap. Very disappointed.

The original choice was Rovers winning promotion ( I presume in this coming season) or England Winning the World Cup this year in 2018. I watched the 1966 final on TV. I would love England to win another World Cup. And for me to see it. I agree with Stuart. I can see exactly what he means. Rather than promotion, I would love to see Rovers win another F A Cup. I doubt they will do in my lifetime.

I was disappointed with England's effort. No desire. No "bottle". I am pleased at the perceived change in attitude by the players under Southgate. To get to the semi-final was a fantastic feat considering our lack of skilful players. The whole nation was revved up for them. And then they turn up for the "bronze" medal play-off and revert to type, showing themselves to be overpaid prima donnas. I thought Southgate had sorted out the mental side of things. Obviously he hasn't. If, in the second half, we had made a fight of it, possibly getting one or two red cards in the process, I would have been sated. But no; we were weak.

Evans was trying to get rid of a fly in his mouth. Smallwood is a brilliant ventriloquist, you know.
-
Sorry. Cannot expand etc. But I've seen the signs and the day is Sunday 22nd July.
-
I thought England would give it their best shot but they failed to do so. I'm a bit upset by that. I hope Southgate gave them a blocking at full time. I bet he didn't. I didn't expect to win but I did expect effort.
-
England are pathetic. Absolutely hopeless. It's like watching paint dry.
-
England win the World Cup. Obviously. Rovers go for promotion every season. If we don't get it this year we'll go again for it next. That is unless we are struggling to avoid relegation. RoversClitheroe, you must be Scottish.
-
I would love England to win the bronze medal. I think they will go all out for it. But Belgium outclassed us in the group stages and, I'm afraid, will do so again. If England had beaten Croatia they would have lost to France in the final. I'm very proud of all that they've achieved but their class is not yet top.
-
I think Marcello distinguished himself. I didn't realise what a great player he is until Russia. Sweden beat England and then lose to Croatia who, in turn, lose to this year's World Cup winners, Belgium. How's that?
-
I just hope no player is sent off. That always spoils a game.
-
“I’ve come from Manchester City, where I’ve been since I was six," he added. "I actually had trials at Rovers when I was younger, so the club has always had a place in my heart." Didn't know Rovers gave trials to 5 year olds.

This time tomorrow night I'll be packing away my "England: World Cup Campaign" shirt again. I bought it 8 years ago. I think I've worn it about 7 times, if that. Belgium brought me down to earth when we played them. All their players are technically better than ours. We haven't anyone who is comfortable on the ball and can take on an opponent, the old fashioned dribbling, except for Rashford and, to a lesser extent, Rose. Don't call me a pessimist. I'm a realist.
-
I thought it was a terrific game for the neutral. Both sides were great, going at each other, either could have scored. Then the terrible mistake by the Argie keeper. After that Croatia were being pulverised but, to their credit, kept attacking on the break. Then the great goal by Modrić and the Argies went to pieces; much like Brazil did when 3-0 down to Germany.

At one time I was convinced the ref had been knobbled.

I've just come on the board and, Philip, you've said it all for me. Spot on. Still, I'm over the moon that we won. We just had to win that first match.
