  1. We could do with @Kamy100 joining us for the Opposition viewpoint.
  2. Third test tomorrow 9a.m. Big first innings total absolutely vital. Toss very important. Then again, Jimmy bowling under lights could be amazing. Unfortunately, so could India.
  3. Cut out of his car. He’s in hospital having surgery on multiple leg injuries.
  4. In the eyes of many, taking up causes close to the heart of the community you work with would enhance his career. Doing nothing about anything would jeopardise it. The same would apply to the editor as well.
  5. Surely not. I don’t live in Blackburn so only read it online occasionally, but Rovers just has to be the big selling point for the LT? In these times where newspapers are struggling to keep going you would think they would relish this kind of story. Its all part of the bigger scene that’s making some fans feel as though they don’t matter any more and are better just moving to other interests.
  6. About time Rich Sharpe at the LT started to do some real digging, ask hard questions. You know - become a real journalist. Represent those people that buy your newspaper.
  7. I keep thinking of how Mowbray has been dumbing down the fans expectations for a long time now. It looks very much as though he’s known about the direction the current regime have been aiming for and gone along with it all. It appears to suit him down to the ground. No pressure on Tony then, is there? He’s part of it.
  8. They just believe that by backing the club in everything they do, it makes them a top supporter.
  9. I never thought of a Sonos play1 as posh Gav. Theyre just great really. All you need to do is plug them into the mains - no other cables required. Even with a stereo pair you can put them anywhere. No need for speaker stands or having them at the same height. Sonos Trueplay does all that for you.
  10. Dare I expand this topic a bit please? Can I also ask what equipment people are listening on? I have two Sonos play1’s paired. The sound for two small speakers is incredible IMO. Many years ago I had - and still have in the attic - a mid range CD player, amp, power amp, speakers mounted on soundproofed stands. Technology moves on and these two small speakers are far superior.
  11. Hi Ozz. Simple question. Does the trust have Access to legal advice? No real reason for asking.
  12. I can’t remember exactly Hoochie bloochie. I do remember the punch though, followed by a short break in proceedings while Baah was picked up, brushed down and told to get over it. No apology from Speedie though. At that point Speedie was coming towards the end of his career, while Baah was 18 years old. That’s why it stuck in my mind. Think about this.... Kenny Dalglish, Hartford, Wegerle if I remamber correctly, and the rest of rovers squad was there training in a public park and there were probably a dozen or so of us watching. How many would have been at Stanley Park if Dalglish had been taking his Liverpool squad for training there?
  13. Speedie flattening Peter Baah with a right hook in a training match! Yep, happy days😀
  14. joeH talks about not being into legacies, but everything that’s happened to this club over the past 30 years has been down to one man. Everything you see now both at Ewood and Brockhall is down to one man. None of it would have happened if it weren’t for Jack Walker. If anyone ever deserved to have his legacy cherished, respected or held in the highest esteem, it’s Jack Walker. He left us a piece of land in a beautiful part of the country. For me, at this moment Brockhall is this clubs Jewel in the crown. It lifts Blackburn Rovers profile way above all the other town teams in this area. It IS a big attraction. and this current mob who know nothing about Blackburn Rovers and it’s history, Blackburn Rovers fans or how respected Jack Walker and his legacies, want to build bloody houses on it. Theyre just a bunch of Johnny - come - lately bastards in my eyes.
  15. I already have done. It’s obvious to me why this is happening. It’s also obvious that any dubious benefit to the playing side of the club can only be short term, while the effects on the Brockhall facility is for ever.
  16. Could it be that Venkys are planning on getting out and grabbing what they can before they do?
  17. It’s really, really hard to get past the view that they’re selling off that land because someone’s seen a lot of available cash - and not because they financially have no other option.
  18. I used to go down to the Pleasington playing fields to watch rovers train when Dalglish and Hartford were taking training. speedie was still at Rovers. That would be 91 or 92.
  19. There’s an assumption by some fans that selling off parts of the beautiful Brockhall training facility for multi millions of pounds, is necessary in order to upgrade the training facilities. So, what happens next time the training facilities need upgrading? Anyone? Its bollocks isn’t it. Total bollocks.
  20. Fair enough, but then I don’t understand why you support the downscaling.
  21. Selling off assets always raises funds JoeH. Selling assets though only takes you in one direction 👇 What will happen to the money raised JoeH? I guess that you have some idea where it will go. IMO, there’s absolutely zero chance that it will be reinvested back into the club in any meaningful long term way.
