I ca't access that at work, but I will say after watching Enda Stevens for the first time last night , they have a great left back. You could see how well drilled they were the first time we played them. They all knew their roles. Contrast that to us at times and it's like night and day Mowbray often cites Sheffield united as the model we should follow, but when you consider they came 9th I think it was last season, you could see then they were moving in the right direction. We have a big summer ahead to get anywhere near that level.

I had a master system then a mega drive, but I always loved the Nintendo consoles. My next door neighbor had a Nintendo 64, loved it. My main console is the PS4 pro now, but I also have a Wii u. The virtual console is good, but pricey. I might get the SNES mini. The hackability is intriguing.

I think people are rightly annoyed about the FAI. There will need to be changes. When they started being thrown on I was really annoyed about the timing though, as was the majority of the stadium. Then we scored straight away, so it actually became epic as when the players were celebrating a few more ended up on the pitch and the players kicked them back whilst celebrating. I would say most if not all of the players undertand the fans frustrations. Now if we hadn't have scored immediately, or even worse if it led to the opposition scoring, it would have been viewed differently today. Duff is getting a bit of stick as he gave out about the fans at half time. He said what if 3 minutes are added and the opposition score at the end, which is a fair point. I think he should just have added that the supporters are rightly frustrated.

Best display I have seen from an Ireland team in years last night, 4 or 5 wouldn't have flattered us. A breath of fresh air to see players trying to pass the ball. They had so much passing in them after being banned from doing so for the last few years. It was like prohibition had ended and everyone was getting drunk on passing. McGoldrick had some game. As good a target/hold up man performance as you will see. Better than Graham at it, but not as good a finisher. I can see why Willliams is gone. Enda Stevens from Sheffield united started left back, a vast improvement on Williams in every imaginable way. Hendrick was class, as was Hourihane(scored practically an identical goal to the free against us). Duffy and Keogh solid at the back. Still bigger tests to come, but McCarthy has turned things around with minimum time with the squad. 10 days basically. Incredible.

3-4 quality players, at least, are needed. Good enough to go into the starting 11. I would say for that to happen a lot would have to change this summer compared to practically every other summer

Well if the players share stuff themselves they can't complain if people comment on it, HOWEVER, if fans are asking them to pose for pictures that they then share, what are the players supposed to do? Say no to the picture? Then the line is they are rude, or worse. Odd times indeed.

God, I must have been so happy with promotion I was oblivious to that. I will never forget the first half against Portsmouth last season. I never saw a player give the ball away more in a game. That was it for me.

You hit on the key issue here I feel. McCarthy and Samba got away with it because they and more importantly the club were relatively successful at the time. Now anything the players do that may be perceive negatively is amplified in fans eyes.

It would be very interesting, because Mowbray is constantly saying we have money to spend. So if we sold Dack and next thing it's deadline day and we have spent peanuts, I think it's safe to say fans would be livid.

Not sure what he is doing wrong here to be honest. He isn't causing trouble or anything. If players want to drink and damage their bodies they will do it whether out in public or not. As for selling him, I wouldn't be against it if we got the right offer, but I think you are raving if you think Armstrong can replace him.

Williams makes no sense, but I'm not sure Mcarthy will keep him around. I haven't even checked if he was kept, but perhaps the pic in the airport with Dack would suggest he wasn't The reality has always been though that a player who is at a championship club or higher will be selected ahead of a league of ireland player, regardless of ability. That probably made sense years ago, but with so many other nationalities now competing for starting places in the English league, we just have to spread the net.
