  1. Indeed, but it seems irrelevant as he is under pressure from fans this season and is exceeding expectations! There is pressure on football mangers all the time anyway, regardless of what they say. Mowbray just needs to be backed financially, to do that he has to give Venkys some idea of what they can/should expect with investment
  2. The only ones putting pressure on Mowbray are the fans. Most would have been happy with survival this season, but our good start moved the goalposts and now expectations are higher. Mowbray has always said it will take a few windows to mount a promotion push.
  3. I think it must be because Mowbray favors players from here for whatever reason. That nonsense with the Portuguese connection appears to have knocked our overseas recruitment on it's head. We should be looking alright.
  4. So, less than Brereton has done. In Forests first team scoring 8 goals in the Championship, not League 2 and 1 like Dack. Apprentice of the year in the Championship. 19 England under 19 caps, 1 under 20 cap. Joint top scorer at the under 19 Euros.
  5. That's a different point though, which I take. Under Hughes in particular our recruitment was incredible. Add Santa cruz too if he hasn't already been mentioned. Emerton (possibly Souness), McCarthy. Incredible business really looking back. Lets not sugar coat it though and pretend it was all good. We had plenty of duds too.
  6. Nobody is dressing it up. Yes, the fee was high, but again, was Dack the same player at 19 as he is now? He wasn't. So if someone had have spotted him and committed 10 million, they would have done well. We have Graham arguably playing the best football of his career, we have Brereton as his understudy learning from him. No panic. Hard to tell if he is a dud or not after 300 minutes of football, but you are entitled to your opinion.
  7. Hoping a 19 year old gets more game time and improves hardly warrants this response. I don't think anyone is buying anything. It just seems some fans have their minds made up on Brereton, a 19 year old lad and nothing will change it. For some perspective,Dack is 5 years older than Brereton. Where was he when he was 19? 7 players for a million each enough for promotion? Sounds so simple. The players you then go onto mention cost far more than a million each in many cases. Wasn't Mooy like 10 million after his loan?
  8. You would be looking at more than £15 million I reckon. Nyambe 5-6 million, Lenihan 4-5million, Raya 7 million. Masterstroke and Coyle. Now there are two words you don't see in a sentence together too often
  9. We would make a profit on Armstrong, Rothwell, Smallwood, Rodwell, Nuttall and probably Bell if we sold them.
  10. Reed is better, but who plays right mid then? Bennett I suppose
  11. Speculation about our budget is pointless. It took up 80% of the summer transfer thread and now we are off again. Skepticism about everything. We don't have the money, we have the money but Mowbray won't spend it, we shouldn't spend the money as it could get us in trouble. The truth is nobody actually knows. I would bet that he has a budget. The owners appear to trust Mowbray and there seems to be some long term planning at the club , finally. January isn't a great time to sign players. I would be happy with 1 in on permanent and 1 loan. If we got Reed, Gallagher and Chapman , that would be quite a January window.
  12. I really hope Villa don't go up this year. What they are doing is just taking the piss.
  13. I think Evans is playing well though and Reed has shown he can play on the right of the front 3
  14. I'm not Armstrongs biggest fan, but he is definitely quick. In those Q and A things most players say he is the quickest at the club
  15. It was 100% a penalty. One of those ones where the ball trickled through without Evans touching it and he got the players leg. If it was the other way around and it happens Dack in their box, I don't think anyone here would be saying it shouldn't be a penalty. It was just unlucky really. Evans had to go for it. Another day he knicks the ball. We played well. We don't always need to find a scapegoat to blame.
  16. --------------------Raya Nyambe---Lenihan---Mulgrew----Bell ----------------Travis-------Evans -----Reed--------Dack-----Armstrong --------------------Graham Would be my strongest team. Hard to leave Bennett out though. Was tight between him and Armstrong.
  17. We did well today. Good performance Soft peno, but right decision. Have to say it was bells best game for us. More please! Dack is decent in the air for a little lad. Bullet header We take them at Ewood
  18. Maybe Chelsea can send us a defender on loan instead
  19. What channels is it legally on? BeIn sports is one I think
  20. That would be good. He is a tough player. We need more of them in this division.
  21. Poor man. Puts things in perspective Hopefully he is back soon
  22. Hence why I said he is like the ox INSOFARAS he is a strong runner who likes to get the ball forwards. You have gone off on some tangent and lost me with the last paragraph. I think it's time for some January pest control. Time to stick a couple on ignore. In my opinion, yourself and 47er don't really contribute anything from a football knowledge point of view. Just go around looking for little angles to disagree with people on. Usually ignoring or missing their entire points.
  23. So Travis isn't a strong runner who likes to get the ball forward?
  24. Chapman is a bigger risk than Brereton at those figures. He has been out injured 3 times since leaving here. I like him, but it's not looking good for him.
  25. Just read we have won and scored the most penalties in the championship so far this season
