  1. This whole saga hammers home to me why I don't engage with Rovers anywhere near as much as I used to (moving away from Blackburn aside) - everything we do has to be drawn out in the most torturous manner and honestly, it's exhausting.
  2. Not to mention the clubs who will probably want to avoid a situation like this one where they potentially have to pay a player to sit in the reserves for 6 months.
  3. Everyone knows the deadline, every other club bar a couple of very last minute ones sorted it, most with weeks of the window left. If it's the case it's been blocked, it's beyond amateur and certain higher-ups needing punting.
  4. If that's the case heads need to roll. To get first team players out the door and replaced by literally nothing? All our rivals got business done early and yet again we're scrabbling around at the 11th hours. What happened to this improved recruitment structure?
  5. It would help if we stopped wasting ridiculous wages on dross loans from PL teams. I can count on one hand how many of them have actually been worth the outlay in the last 5 years.
  6. Weird thing is, his position is exactly where the younger players should be - in and around the squad for when Dack is unavailable. Nice bloke, but bizarre signing, especially when you consider how long we've been crying out for a good CF/CM.
  7. I'd agree, but even other teams with no money manage to get players in in a timely manner. Something is rotten with our specific transfer hierarchy and has been for a while.
  8. The ONE good thing about the early part of the season was our ability to hold on to a lead, and we've lost it completely. Very worried for the next part of the season, especially with seemingly no effort being made to address the problem areas.
  9. Whilst I agree with the general sentiment, I don't think anyone can argue that the club is set up to make a profit in any way. If they really wanted a profit they'd be all in on promotion.
  10. So another winger and possibly a striker. Still not seeing anything to suggest that we're even looking at CM, which is arguably where we get run over every game. Markanday potentially being pushed out for a loan signing is at odds with what GB said in the summer too. No point improving up top if we can't get the ball to them reliably.
  11. Well he was right when he said we'd see consistency after the break at least!
  12. He's a dreadful manager with zero clue of how to manage a game on any level... but we won't get rid because the club is a shambles.
  13. Based on the games I've seen, the ball never successfully leaves our back 4, so it correlates if this is also happening in training that the forwards wouldn't have a clue what to do with it on the rare occasion it arrives with them.
  14. Not even convinced we were ever seriously in for him. We do this every window, get linked with some genuinely good options and then rush in some complete nobodies on deadline day. The fact that the likes of Wogan, Preston and Blackpool can get deals over the line in a timely manner just hammers hom how much of a clown show the club is these days. That said, the fact that the only real concrete links seem to be for positions we don't need immediately is very worrying.
  15. I think you're massively overestimating a) how much our manager cares about local derbies and b) the spine in this team. All you need to do is pin us back and get an early goal - do that and you'll get as many as you like.
  16. Dack is one player I think JDT has actually handled well, and he's clearly our best player. Unfortunately his return has also coincided in a complete collapse at the other end of the pitch because the rest, particularly in midfield, are constantly taking turns at being next to useless.
  17. Just wait until they put 5+ past us at Ewood.
  18. Never mind winning a point, have we even scored when behind in the league this season?
  19. To a degree, but another problem, and arguably a bigger one, is that we create next to nothing with our "style" of play, I don't really like xG on a game by game basis but after the amount of games we've had it definitely screams of a team with a major problem. It also explains why we can't come from behind, and that our style of play entirely depends on us fluking our way into the lead. Our style of football would struggle to get goals even with Haaland up top. https://footballxg.com/xg-league-tables/
  20. I think he was actually fine under Coyle, 11 goals that season isn't phenomenal but for his age and in such an awful team was a good return. However, paying £5m for him was criminal. £1m or under and we're probably having a different conversation.
  21. Am I missing something about this Gelhardt? 3 goals in 50 apps doesn't exactly scream to me that he's the answer to our problems, or anyone elses for that matter? I'd much rather go for someone with some actual experience of putting the ball in the net, even if that's only 10 goals a season. Same with the links to the likes of Kilkenny and Cantwell - does this actually solve any of the problems we have? Adding more flair players to a powder puff midfield isn't going to make it any harder to bypass. The links I'm seeing so far are major red flags for me in terms of what we're looking at, and I fully expect us to pull in a bunch of inexperienced loans on deadline day, continue to get pumped by awful teams who have worked out how to counter us, and for us to fall down the table. That said, the Hibs defender looks decent enough, I just don't see CB as a priority at the moment.
  22. I was already in the JDT out camp and this just hammers it home. We play abysmal anti-football that creates zero and the team has no spine - saw the goal after 30 seconds and knew we were in for a pasting. Embarrassing capitulation after embarrassing capitulation. At least Mowbray managed to keep it close when we lost (Fulham hammering aside). Awful manager, even worse owners - the club has zero ambition and they wonder why every other club in the area sells more tickets.
  23. Just came home to this, that might be the most embarrassing result I've seen since we dropped out of the Premier League. Get rid whilst we're still in a decent position. This team is going to fail to finish in the top 6 again but hail it as a positive. I'm beyond done at this point.
