Knowing our lot, we'll probably give his dad a 3 yr contract as well!

Do Umbro actually provide all the other merchandise in the club shop? If so, then the sizing issue can't be any worse under any other supplier. I bought my dad a polo shirt for Christmas, he's in his 70s & not too bothered about the style. He just likes something quite plain with the club badge on - he's in luck there!. Fortunately, I went to the club shop whilst they were still open prior to the 2nd lockdown. I picked up 3 polos to choose from, all supposedly the same size, and there must've been at least 2 inches difference in the width & 3 inches in the length from the "smallest" to the "largest". The lady in the shop found it quite amusing (not her fault obviously) when she asked if I was ok & I pointed it out. I must've looked like a right nutter holding all three shirts together comparing the sizes. I'll be honest, I didn't pay too much attention to what the inner label said and there was no Umbro logo on the front, so I don't know who they get them from. If it is Umbro, then it's shocking. Even Primark are more consistent! -
He certainly was. To be fair @islander200 mentioned him in his post, but yeah, he's another good example.

Not a fan of suggesting people just because they worked under a top manager. Exhibit A - Brian Kidd Exhibit B - Warren Joyce And let's be honest, Mikel Arteta isn't exactly pulling up any trees. A good coach/No.2 under a top manager doesn't necessarily translate into a good manger in the making. Very often, they need to be an entirely different type of person in what tends to be a good cop/bad cop role. I'm not saying it doesn't ever work, there are plenty of examples where it does. I just think we need someone who has at least had some success as a manger somewhere rather than gambling on a novice in the hot seat.

That's not good news to say the least! I was hoping @Wovers post was tongue in cheek as a bit of a dig at comments made by others about Mowbray getting the boot the other week. -

Exactly! You never think about us. 😂 We're not fat, we're "undertall". The missus said I needed to get in shape, I told her "round is a shape!" Edit: The worst ever were the Kappa ones - I'm sure I had a XXXL or something stupid and it was still skin tight, which isn't a pretty sight. I looked like a badly made sausage! 😅 -

90% agree. I always enjoy a big Rovers win, but this was definitely a bit less glossy than usual. As mad as it sounds, I'd have preferred a 1-0 or a 2-1. 5-2 doesn't polish the turd, it merely rolls it in glitter. Unfortunately, there's too many magpies about who lap up anything shiny! Agree with your 2nd post on THB. That lad is class & should go on to much bigger & better things. Never looks rushed or panicked, no last ditch challenges, reads the game superbly meaning he's nearly always in the right place at the right time. Distribution is good too. If we can get him on loan again next season we should snatch Pep's hand off. -
Wouldn't it be great to have 25k on for the opening game next season, all giving Mowbray absolute doggers, then for 2k to show up for the next when he's still in situ. Now that's a protest! As the Oxford game at the end of the L1 campaign showed, those fans are still lurking somewhere.

Ah, yeah good point @oldjamfan1, there's also quite a few different artists to choose from other than the original too. Anyway, cover of the Bill Withers classic: Club Nouveau - Lean On Me -

People who insist on watching videos or playing music on their phones in public places without headphones! Aaarrrgggh, nobody want to listen to your tinny music coming out of a 1cm sq speaker on the train and I certainly don't want the same crappy tinny sound of your mates on holiday or at a party drowning out everything else whilst I'm having a pint! -

My eldest daughter's boyfriend works for ADI who do the advertising boards and TVs at most football grounds. He was at Adams Park just after the start of the season on the Friday afternoon prior to Wycombe playing on Sky at lunchtime on the Saturday. As he was working to repair one of the boards and chatting to his workmate, a voice behind him said "Na'then, that sounds like a proper accent". He turned round & it was Ainsworth. He said GA seemed like a good bloke & took the time to have a 10-15 min chat with him. -

I like your optimism Paul, I just wish I could share it. I just feel that we're stuck in Mowbrayville for ever. I've had the optimism for a change sucked out of me. However, who knows what's going on in Barry's head, we could end up with anything from Mourinho to Judan Ali. If I look at things realistically, then Ainsworth looks like a decent, realistic shout which I could definitely get behind. The lad has earned his chance to get a bigger gig and we all know that he would at least inject a bit of passion and would have the best interests of the club at heart. He'd be 100% all the time, no going through the motions, no keeping your mates happy etc. Yes, he'll make mistakes along the way, but he looks like the type that would learn from them unlike Moggasaurus. He's proved that this season with Wycombe. My first choice would be Chris Wilder and he fits Venky's previous as being out of work, so no compo to pay. A left field suggestion, which I've mentioned before, would be Roberto DiMatteo. He has managed in this league before, has had success at both Championship & PL level as well as Bundesliga, & is out of work. My only worry is he's been out of the game for 5 years & his last spell at Villa was a bit of a disaster. It would certainly make a statement of intent though. I just hope that it's not from the usual HSH agency stock or we'll end up with Pulis, Robins or Hypia. -
I've supported this club for long enough now to know not to count my chickens. 😁 (very apt phrase with our owners!)

Just hope that the rumours are correct and that myself and @K-Hod get a wonderful birthday present after our final game of the season. 🙏

🥱😴 Why did I subject myself to listening to that? It's just mindless boring monotone waffle, going round & round in circles! Just go please Tony. I've gone beyond angry and ended up at just apathetic now.

I can't believe that this thread is likely to top 600 pages before he gets the boot. Seriously, what is the tipping point? Is there one? There were rumours a couple of weeks ago that the press turning had started to tip things against him, however all that seemed to happen on the back of it, was that the Brockhall plans got shelved. Today, the criticism from Crooke & Sharpe is quite strong (by their standards) and seem to just fall short of saying he needs to go, although, reading between the lines, this is what they're saying. Has anyone heard even any semblance of a rumour that he's under any sort of pressure? Please, anybody, give me something to cling to. This is like being stuck in Purgatory!

Don't forget the slightly earlier KO time guys - I'd hate for anyone to miss the first half, it's always so exciting! 😅 -
Yes that was exactly the deal @Stuart. This is the only reason that I might consider a ST if he's still here. My thinking is that the discount will probably only be available before the season starts &, knowing my luck, we'd get a month into the season, pot Mowbray & Venus, & then appoint someone who we could all be enthusiastic about. Were I having to stump up the full amount, it would be a definite no.

The game today should be interesting with a few fans allowed back in. Not too bothered about who wins it this year as long as it's whoever comes out on top today. However, of today's teams, I can only see Leicester being able to give Chelsea a run for their money under Tuchel.

Will Mowbray be gone at the end of the season?
windymiller7 replied to skous18's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Pointless poll as there's only a handful of people know the answer & I doubt they post on here. Needs rewording if the intention is to garner an opinion. For that reason, I'm abstaining from voting. Should he be gone? Oh yes!
