Mowbrays Successor
windymiller7 replied to Darwen Rover 007's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Was just having a look at available managers & one that stood out to me as an interesting one: Roberto Di Matteo. Obviously a strange spell at Villa where he was only in charge for 12 games (Losing 4), but has done pretty well everywhere else, including a Championship promotion season at West Brom, where he took them back up after they were relegated from the Prem. Who did he replace at the Hawthornes? Yep, you guessed it! High profile (ish), previous promotion, out of work - could work within Venky's usual criteria & I wouldn't be too disappointed myself. certainly an upgrade on suggestions of Pulis! I'm sure someone will come along and piss on my chips though - other than the fact TM's going nowhere, but hey, I can dream! Managerial stats below for those interested: -

I didn't realise it was Lowe at first, but I actually said to my daughter "who's that guy there? He looks like he's won a competition to sit in the dugout for a game"

Can you imagine letting Bruno Fernandez loose against our current midfield! 🤣 Anyway, he's not going is he? Yeay, Millwall defeat to look forward to now.

Sick to death of watching the same turgid shite every game. Nothing changes. I bet I could close my eyes & know exactly where the ball is when we have it. Yet this muppet seems to think that all of a sudden it'll produce different results! It's shite, shite to watch & doesn't work. Just fecking do one!!

Just heard on the news that Ian St John has died aged 82 after illness. I don't remember him playing, but growing up, it was the law to watch Saint & Greavsie with my mates before heading off to Ewood. RIP

I'm not a Rugby fan, but I watched "The Rugby Codebreakers" last night on BBC1. I really enjoyed it. It was a real insight into the division between Union & League in the early days & up until the mid 90s, particularly in Wales. Think it's also available on iPlayer. I was quite pleased as I only ended up watching it because it was on after MOTD2.

Hmm, now what could possibly cause such a downturn in sales? 🤔

Called a draw on Saturday, although I did say 2-2, not that it matters much, it's still 1pt and 0 GD. I can't see anything other than defeat tomorrow unless a miracle happens & we sack Mowbray & appoint a new guy today, meaning that the players will at least give their all trying to prove something to the new guy. However, back in the real world, it'll be 6 defeats in 7, Lucas Joao will score a hat-trick then go & sit on the (naughty) steps sucking his thumb whilst pointing & laughing at Mowbray. We generally do tend to score at least one, so I'm saying 4-1 Reading (serious about the Joao hat-trick btw). Armstrong to get it back to 2-1 in the 75th min to have Neil Yardley & Warren Lucy creaming themselves about how we've got 15 mins to get 2 goals and go on to win it keeping our play off dream alive, before the inevitable capitulation as Reading score 2 more. For that reason, I'll be watching on Sky! Mowbray out!

Tyler Magloire's loan spell

Sitting under a bramble bush would make him a better defender compared to working under Mowbray!
