That makes about as much sense as the managers tactics. -

I think we have been watching football for a similar amount of time and like you, I can’t work out, what the hell this guy is trying to do. Sadly, the people who decided to appoint him, will stick with him, as the compensation is likely to affect them financially. There is no shape to the team, no passion, no fluidity and there also seems to be a lack of effort. I would imagine the players are as baffled by him as the fans and my only hope is, that somehow, he won’t last beyond this season, as it is terrifying to think how bad this will get, if he is allowed to bring in his own players and we start next season with him in charge. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

I am now at the point of wondering, if this appointment was on the basis of, let’s see if we can piss the fans even more. Snowball revenge at its best. Find an out of work manager, with the most abysmal record we can in his most recent roles, give him as long a contract as we can and if he can speak French, even better. Get him to write a letter to the fans introducing himself, then really shove it up them, by playing shit football, win no games, but keep him in situ, for as long as we can. That will show them. As a bonus, set the season ticket prices at at level that brings in just enough revenue to pay his compensation, when even we have to sack him, for his record, which will be the worst in the clubs history, by the time he is done. -

I agree, it was Gestede who strongly influenced this. Its done now and even though people are still saying it’s early days, it’s a disaster this now and the longer he remains, the worse this will get. -
I think Waggott is now using the Trust, in every sense of the word. He is referring to constructive meetings, in his spiel defending himself against the latest uprising. I think a statement needs to be made very quickly to explain why the trust are not backing the latest rebellion, or I fear the end. Not enough is being done to make life uncomfortable and the original intentions, are shot down now, when you look at what it was all about from the off.

He was probably appointed to make the people running the club competent. He is the worst appointment we could have gone for. No shape, no direction, no effort, no blood sweat or tears. Pathetic. -

It’s hard to believe that question was asked. The skill set within the fan base in incredible and there are plenty, who would do a far better job than Waggott and they have Blue and White blood.

Will it hit the Indian press Glen? -
The thing to remember here, more than anything else is the number sold. The barometer, has to be this season. Other clubs sell a lot more than us, simple as that, so pricing at the level they have, possibly has little or no effect. With the numbers sold at Ewood this season, together with the shenanigans, these prices point to a further reduction. We won’t know if this is purely down to price or not, without using some sort of inventiveness and although I know it isn’t perfect, my suggestion in an earlier post, would at least test the water on that. From some of the responses, a similar scheme, at other clubs has proved to be successful, so why not give it a try? If as expected, there are less than 4,000 adult season tickets are sold, it should tell everyone, this there is something seriously wrong.

The Aynsley Pears depreciation thread.
lraC replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It’s a shame the people at the top, don’t think the same about the club, players & manager, as people like Luke. They abuse the love and the fans loyalty to the club, in essence, with some of the decisions and statements. I attended a one to one meeting not that long ago and was shocked to hear what was said about one of the players, who has since been sold. Despite this thread being about the lack of quality of one of the players, I don’t think any of us, would abuse a player, but the decision makers, seem to think nothing of it. The statements made in the press about both JDT and Eustace beggar belief, so imagine what is said behind closed doors. -
Based on the figures, I think the revenue will be higher

It just takes something like this, which I’m sure will work.

We will not sell 5,000 adult tickets.

This has been a huge own goal and a missed opportunity. How about this, which I know is now too late and will have fallen on deaf ears. Operation fill Ewood Given the special year in the history of Blackburn Rovers football club, we have a new and exciting offer, that, we hope the fans will get behind. The aim is to sell 12,000 adult season tickets at £150 per person, but in order to ensure the funds are still available for the clubs plans, we have a plan to ensure that we meet a minimum target, hence the 12,000 adult tickets. Our proposal is an initial pledge to buy and we request that a payment of £50 is made and this will be deducted form the £150 if the numbers are met. The deadline for this, will be 01/05/2025. Once pledged, no refund will be made if the target is met, as we will expect the £100 remaining payment is then made and the season ticket will be allocated. In the event of the numbers not being met, then the option is to claim a full refund, or the payment can be used to buy at the normal prices. For each adult ticket purchased, so long as the target of 12,000 is met, an option to purchase up to 2 children's tickets for £30 each will be offered.

I honestly believe if Pasha was driven out, they would sell. He is the owners eyes and ears and is currently telling them the club does not need their funding and can run itself. He is ex Kentaro and has been here from the start. -

What's the point in all this? -
I spent all of my early years watching from the Riverside terraces, before eventually moving to the Blackburn End, when the kids were born. All 3 of us had season tickets in the lower tier and all love our time there. Sadly, this has been destroyed forever now and although my Grandson is a Rovers fan, I am struggling to build the club up too much to him.

i think they are in for a rude awakening, as there seems to be a groundswell here, as even some of the most loyal season ticket holders, are now, asking questions. -

Hi didn't really make the grade at Rovers, hence you not remembering him. I recall him, but had to search to get the info below, which I hope you find useful. Played the odd game as a stand in mainly. As a youngster Glenn represented Wigan schools at both football and rugby league and he joined the town's football club, Wigan Athletic, when he left school.[3] His Football League debut arrived as a 17-year–old substitute against Port Vale on 6 September 1980, in place of his future Chester City team-mate Peter Houghton.[3] During his time at Wigan, he had a one-month trial with Chelsea in November 1982, during which time he played four times for their reserve side. The next three years produced more than 70 league appearances before he moved to Blackburn Rovers on a free transfer in August 1983.[3] After failing to establish himself as a regular in the Blackburn side, Glenn rejected the offer of a new contract in the summer of 1985 and joined Fourth Division side Chester City.[3] He played his first game for the club in a 1–1 draw with Halifax Town on 17 August 1985, alongside fellow debutants Wakeley Gage, Milton Graham and Lee Harley, in Harry McNally's first game as Chester manager.[4] Glenn helped Chester win promotion in his first season at the club, scoring his only goal in a 3–2 win at Colchester United late in the season.[3] -

This is another defeat, I think, which will probably ruin my 60th birthday celebrations. I will be watching form Spain on Rovers TV so hope I can raise a glass at the end to salute a much needed victory, but I do have my doubts. -

Interesting comments by the Watford fans. Lets hope he has improved since last March, as we have a few centenary season tickets, to offload. An exciting appointment like this with a vow to play possession based entertaining football, should mean they fly off the shelves.
