  1. I didn't rate dickov when we had him but the seasons after he left in really started to appreciate the donkey work he did. He was also very good at holding it up for a small man
  2. For me those that really stand out Adam Henley. Was a brilliant 1v1 (vs sterling in2015) defender but never improved the weaknesses in his game, seemed to lack confidence and too many injuries. Ruben Rochina - had an incredible left foot and technique but didn't develop his decision making. Seems to have improved since he left. Nikola Kalinic - had a poor start when he wasnt acclimatised to english football but I always rated him and thought he was very unlucky when he was here.
  3. I wondered this at first. But I think we will miss the whole thing so much that when it comes back people will want to be a part of it still.
  4. How can anyone suggest Gallagher on the wing. I genuinely want to hear the rationale For me He plays up front or he doesn't play I think most would agree on that surely?
  5. Yeah I'm with. Travis getting some criticism from.some but he is so overrun in the middle. Hes working his balls off In there.
  6. It may not be the biggest problem of that half but gallagher on the wing is beyond a joke now. What on earth is the logic, it literally never works?
  7. His change to put rothwell in centre mid with travis, move downing to left back and bell further forward made things worse
  8. Especially since west brom fans didn't seem o rate him last season
  9. Wright-Phillips looks a very exciting prospect. You know I had in my head that this batch of under 18's weren't that good. Or at least last time I checked they lacked a goalkeeper and a striker. They look very exciting.
  10. I dont think I've ever seen Rothwell start a game for us as a 10. I've seen him come on a as a sun there but only once or twice. I reckon his best position would be on the left of a midfield 3 like as an 8 and a half. Pretty sure when he signed that's where he saw himself.
  11. Raya had longer left on his contract presumably. Also we I assume weren't as willing to selling as Brightom presumably would be
  12. As of the end of season I had in my head that Walton will only have one year left on his contract. So by the time he leaves at the end of 20/21 season he would be 25 and thus Brighton get nothing for him. He's not better than Ryan and is what third choice there atm? So unless they go down I would say that he would be available between £1-2 million, ideally we would try structure it so we dont pay a lot up front. I would take him for that as our number one but we would definitely need to improve on Leutwiler who just isnt a viable alternative.
  13. This is exactly the sort of thing that gets suggested on here a lot. So long may it continue and hopefully grow in scope.
  14. Would Johnson at centre half work? I'd love their to be a viable alternative to moving Nyambe from right back.
  15. Rothwell blows hot and cold. He was brilliant in the 45 mins before he got injured (forget who it was at home) really top drawer stuff but he needs to be more consistent. When he finds his feet again after injury he needs to kick on
  16. The length of time was my main gripe at the time and still is really. Makes football a less enjoyable to watch.
  17. I remember it being a disaster in the group stages then fifa using it much less in the knockout rounds. At the time a lot of people criticised the use of the screens as they (rightly in my opinion) thought it slowed the process down even further for no real gain. This seems to have been forgotten.
  18. I've just seen our penalty again on quest. I thought it was dubious but actually I'm certain it's a penalty now. Raya falls on and impedes him.
  19. I do think we retain possession better with rothwell in the team. Hopefully we will see him against stoke on Wednesday. Overall it's a good point . They had a lot of the ball in and around our area and missed a couple of good chances. That is as deep as I've seen us defend in a while and there was some terrific blocks in there. Our first goal was assisted by the wind but Armstrong took it well. Our penalty was debatable, one angle it looks very harsh the other it looks a foul. I know we conceded 2 but thought we defended well, you cant really moan about throwing away a 2 goal lead when one goal was a screamer and the other was basically a dive and shouldn't have been given.
  20. I think in his last run of games he really struggled at times but not just because of his physique. He wasnt picking the right balls and he missed a sitter against huddersfield where he really snatched at a chance where he had time to pick his spot. He was right to come out then but hes clearly a talented lad and he has worked hard on his game by the sounds of things so good on him for taking his chance saturday. Tony says his physique makes him an easy target but he is obviously aware it's an issue as he plays him in a more advanced position then he does for the under 23's.
  21. I've been critical of Mowbray over the last 18 months but if we can continue to push the playoffs with the amount of injuries we have whilst bringing through some of the younger lads then I don't think anyone can have any complaints. I do stand by some of the criticism from earlier in the season though. It took until December was it? to get Nyambe as a permanent fixture at right back despite him clearly being better than Bennett. Gallagher on the right wing doesn't work. Gallagher and Brereton haven't proven to be good signings as of yet. We needed a better back up keeper earlier in the season. Some weird team selections and substitutions such as dropping Travis for the PNE game and not making any substitutions until we were 3-2 down. I also think he's left himself a lot to do in the summer to get this side to go again.
  22. If it happens soon when Williams is also injured we are down to a frozen out Mulgrew or a young lad like Carter who would be a complete gamble in a play off push.
  23. It's a real shame. The injuries look to have taken away his burst of pace. He was so exciting to watch in our league 1 season albeit briefly. That player would make an impact of the bench in the championship I'm sure of it. Losing his pace alone means the end of his career ambitions, limits how effective he can be, add into that accusations of a bad attitude and he isnt going to cut it at this level. I'd love to be wrong. It was a punt of a signing basically not based on logic but on mowbrays and the fans emotional connection to him.
