  1. Wow! That's more than 2 Burnleys! *dons tin hat*
  2. Without googling I reckon we've spent about that this century.
  3. I'd personally use plaster, just that ready mixed stuff from B&Q will do. Polyfilla for a hole that big will look messy and, although you're not bothered about the finish, you want as even a surface as possible for your tiles. Just asked my dad, he's a bit old-fashioned, 'Treat every wall as if you're painting it'.
  4. Spent all summer redoing baby's room ready for his arrival. Tore down old plaster, replastered it, sanded down, lined up the wallpaper, took about 2-3 weeks all in. Had a week's rest. Took delivery of the cot, took it upstairs, held the box at the wrong angle, plank slid out straight through the wall.
  5. Time to go. Prepared to eat these words but I actually can envision Mowbray deciding to leave at the end of the season if we finish lower than 12th. I've no reason for that, just a bit of a gut instinct.
  6. Maybe the Bell End will finally be erected.
  7. I struggled with Berg, but I really liked Appleton. He was a blunt instrument and seemed to be getting a lot more effort out of those players. Needed longer to see it translate into results.
  8. He's here at long last, was due on 22nd December! I'm in love all over again.
  9. I always feel that as long as people are alive who were alive back when something was common practice, the shadows linger. Eg: Homosexuality stopped being illegal in the early 70s. Only once people born in the 80s are the oldest in society will homophobia finally start to fade imo.
  10. ...He's in is 3rd season in the Championship with us and has stagnated in each of those years (with 5 transfer windows to put it right). Nobody seems to particularly think ill of him, they just think the time is right for fresh ideas. I'm of the same opinion. If we're miserable again come the season end, we should change, but personally believe the time to change is before the spiral starts (now).
  11. After giving them unnecessarily long contracts/extensions without any real foresight. Ditto Ben Gladwin and Sam Hart.
  12. Yes, when it's against Birmingham City.
  13. It's pretty nostalgic tbf. For Karate Kid fans mainly.
  14. Cobra Kai S3!!!
  15. Oh, just a wee FYI, Pasha has blocked me on Twitter...
  16. The Dream Team? Bellamy as Manager, Hughes as Assistant πŸ˜…
  17. As a Mod, I can only thank the admin and fellow mods. Not only for keeping the site running, but for sharing such a burden with fantastic moral and actual support when we all have our own hectic lives. And thank you K-Hod for lending me Last of Us 😁 Thanks as well to the posters who make me laugh and make me grumble every single day. Honestly, my life would lose just a little something without this community. Happy New Year and COYB!
  18. Fantastic tribute to Brodie Lee by AEW. All the little things they're doing to support the family are great too. Only criticism (and it's incredibly minor) is I'd like to have seen more footage from his Indy days.
  19. Ha, just corrected it πŸ˜‚
  20. Reliably informed that it was Ian's own favourite goal. My dad shared digs with him as an apprentice, were acquaintances til Ian sadly passed.
  21. C'mon chads, he didn't 'slag you off' there. At worst he satirised the type of thing you do say a LOT. At best, he highlighted a good thing, that you prioritise your family over football. There was a spell where I kept posting my dad's thoughts on here as much as my own, and people took the piss. Try not to get wound up by ribs, but if you do think something is too personally insulting then report it to us πŸ‘
  22. In the context of owners that appointed Coyle instead of Warnock, yes I would. In general, no, I'd prefer Hughes or Ainsworth (as stated), but there are worse appointments we could make.
  23. What a weird comment to make. I just named 3 of the more successful former Rovers that are managers in England, and (as you say) reckon they're realistic. I'd take any of them, but in the order named.
  24. Allow me to pull some names out my arse: Max Allegri? Ralf Rangnick? Marcelino? Luciano Spalletti? Enrique SetiΓ©n? All superb, superstar managers currently out of work. Is there a CHANCE we could push the boat out? Now for some left-field names a bit more considered. I've tried to focus on managers who've recently improved their teams, but might fancy a jump (or return) to England. David Wagner - vastly improved Schalke in his time there, particularly their defence, albeit with a fair wallet to spend. Christian Gourcuff - as above at Nantes, with an eye for improving youngsters. Julian Stephan - pulling up trees at Rennes last year. Christian Streich - Freiburg. Imanol Alguacil - Real Sociedad (albeit he's only ever managed Sociedad). Marco Rose - At Monchengladbach, has improved each of the 3 teams he's managed so far. Julian Nagelsmann - RB Leipzeig. Don't worry, the drugs are wearing off. Now for former Rovers: Hughes, Ainsworth, Hill. I'd take any if I'm honest.
